BOB DAVIES HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT: Congratulations go to Dick Chiasson and Pete Swailes who, once again, after a first round loss, defended their last year’s championship by winning their next six games in a row to take home the gold. Their opponents, Glenn Raymond and Bill Bettke took the silver, and Ron Carquez and Lillian Alvarez the bronze. Dave and Bill would like to thank all those that came out to play and made this year’s tournament a success.
- Dave Piper & Bill Roberts
CHILI COOKOFF Well, it rained on Krista’s event so Bob Sharpe and friends had to stop their strumming and fiddling, but our valiant cooks and tasters soldiered on and we have a winner! Robin Cummings chili was voted the best (for the second time) and Randy Olaveson has an honourable mention. The best-dressed chef was Tristan Jamieson (with Gavin Lasenby).
Thanks to Orillia Wine Experience; to chefs Robin Cummings, Ron Horan, Jackie Knisley, Gavin Lasenby, Jean Mansfield, Randy Olaveson, Nancy Sutherland & Myrt Anderson, and Krista Warnke; to volunteers Tina delGobbo, Christine Downey, Kate & Charlotte Lasenby, Kate Linton, Randy Olaveson, Krista Warnke, Barb & Rob White, Shirley & Trent Clark; and to Donna & Satch for once again allowing hydro and interlopers on their site.
