Measure accomplishments by the number of boat ramps, parking lots, and boat courtesy docks constructed on an annual basis. We also completed the construction of a 784-acre lake in central Kentucky with partial funding from boating access program funds. Total cost of this project was $8.5 million and is one of the largest capital construction projects in the history of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. / 1

We keep track of the number of motorboat accesses (Word tables in F-49-D, Motorboat Access Operation & Maintenance); have an infrastructure database that includes information about accesses; have a Conservation Atlas on our agency's web site that provides information about all Department areas, including those with motorboat access (i.e., concrete boat ramps). Please comment on the advantages that stem from having different USFWS regional coordinators: / Frequency
Valid / 17
Allows FWS staff to have specific knowledge of the program they administer and the work load is dispersed. / 1
I believe that 2 coordinators allows for each of them to become more intimately familiar with state staff and their respective project. They are also very accessible and knowledgeable regarding their respective programs. One coordinator for all three programs would become overwhelming and service to the states would suffer. / 1
More personal attention. There are a LOT of projects for just one person to handle. / 1
Separate USFWS coordination allows for better service and response from USFWS for our boating access program / 1
The advantage is SFR, BIG and CVA all have different requirement. Having different FWS coordinators allow expertise and in-depth understand of the program they administer. / 1
The regional coordinators have extensive knowledge about their program areas and provide significant guidance and support. / 1
Working with those individuals who excel at their job is a pleasure and one that I enjoy coordinating our activities through. Those that do not do their job well seem to act as impediments. / 1
