The nominations round out a remarkable year for the Danish band, led by vocalist Lukas Forchhammer, who released their self-titled debut album earlier this year and since then have solidified their status as 2016's biggest breakout act. Hailing from Christiania - an autonomous, artistic community in the center of Copenhagen, with no cars, streetlights or police, and few luxuries - Lukas Forchhammer developed his natural talent for honest and insightful songwriting. For the debut album, Lukas' storytelling is centered largely on remembering his late father, Eugene Graham, using his writing as a means to cope with that loss. Classically trained with the Copenhagen Boys' Choir, with a musical scope widened by his Irish folk roots and passion for hip-hop, Lukas possesses a distinct, poetic ability to capture the full range of emotions in his music.
