  • Hyundai Motor’s sales forFebruary 2018 total 310,148units, decrease of 8.1 percent YoY

Seoul, March2, 2018 – Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea's largest automaker, today announced its global sales results forFebruary 2018, posting a total of310,148units sold.

Decrease in total unit sales was mainly due to the timing difference of the Lunar New Year which fell in February this year compared to January in 2017.

Sales in overseas market totaled 259,948 units, representing a decrease of 8.6 percent year-over-year.

Sales in Korean market decreased by 5.5 percent compared to the previous year, recording50,200 units sold.

However, strong demandscontinued in the company’ssmall- and mid-sized SUV products such as the Kona and Tucson.Hyundai Motor plans tomaximize profitability bycontinuing SUV sales momentum with newly launched All-New Santa Fe in Korea. Launch of All–New Santa Fe in select region is on course.

Sales Results (Units)

* Monthly sales figures provided in this press release are unaudited and on a preliminary basis.

1. Hyundai Motor currently has overseas plants in Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, India, Russia, Turkey and the U.S.

2. Sales in Korea is based on retail sales while Overseas Sales(Global Sales excluding Korea) is based on wholesales.

3. Sales result includes entire sedan, SUV and CV models produced by Hyundai Motor.
