General Summary Statement

This position is responsible for analyzing and interpreting the daily computer generated materials. From planning reports regenerated daily, releasing of shop orders and purchase orders to ensure raw materials, purchased parts, manufactured parts and component parts are available to support the master production plan.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

1.  Interprets and analyzes daily MRP reports. Determines which part number to have shop orders and purchase orders opened, with a valid due date and quantity to meet the master production plan.

2.  Analyzes daily generated reports to maintain internal and external priorities. (Action Notice Report, Negative ATP(Available to Promise) Report, NCR (Nonconformance) Reports, Firm Planner Order Report, and Held Order Requests).

3.  Analyzes lot sizes, lead-times and safety stock. Makes changes directly into the computer system.

4.  Communicates with all internal customers, such as Master Scheduler, Shift Leaders, Inventory Control, or users of parts, to resolve production and inventory problems. Also, work with the Accounting Department in regard to pricing, variance report, credits due and supplier master data.

5.  Communicates with suppliers in regards to new orders, and delivery schedules. Involves faxing or mailing ECO changes, reports; NCR, Dispatch, and Supplier’s Planner Report, to maintain the production plan. Also assists in implementing and maintaining supplier JIT activities.

6.  Maintains part number quote file to ensure correct pricing appears on purchase orders and then verifies the purchases order for completeness and accuracy.

7.  Works with the Buyer when supplier difficulties occur, such as date performance, quality issues and price changes.

8.  Communicates with Effectivity Coordinator in maintaining routings and Bill of Materials. Generates and reviews ECO’s (Engineering Change Order), faxing them and changing all current open orders to match revision changes.

9.  Analyzes capacities for departments and work centers to level the workload for each work center.

10. Coordinates and schedules transportation for incoming and outgoing parts to insure uninterrupted production.

11. Cross trains with other department personnel to fill in for absent personnel. Includes functioning as Buyer in their absence when necessary to meet production plan.

12. Perform other related responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
