PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL

Pentecost Sunday

Year A

Invitation to Prayer:

My brothers and sisters,

to God who has poured out the Spirit of Jesus

to inspire our prayer,

let us offer our priestly prayer of intercession

for the building up of Church

the needs of the world

and the salvation of all people.

Concluding Prayer:

God of majesty and glory,

who bring us to the day

that crowns our joyful Easter feast,

hear our prayers and open for us

the fountain of living waters,

that the outpouring of the Spirit

may reveal Christ’s glory

and enlighten all who wait in hope

for the glorious day of redemption.

Through Christ our Lord.

Or:

Hear the prayers of those you have anointed, O God,

and who confess that Jesus is Lord.

Grant that they may use the gifts of your Spirit

to build up your kingdom on earth.

Through Christ our Lord.
