City of Colman Council Regular Meeting July 9, 2013
City of Colman regular council meeting rescheduled from Monday, July 8th, due to no quorum, was called to order by Mayor Gloria Van Duyn at 7:45 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Colman City Hall. Council members present: Bill Thompson, Russ May, Dan Doyle, and Mike Uhing. Bob Rolfson & Jeff Fritz were absent. Also present: Finance Officer, Michael Hauglid and Pool Supervisor Deidra Thompson. Those present for all or some of the meeting: David Voelker.
Jeff Fritz’s resignation from council was discussed. A motion made by Doyle and seconded by Uhing to accept Fritz’s resignation. Motion carried.
A motion was made by May and seconded by Thompson to accept David Voelker as the new councilmember for Ward II. Motion carried.
Mayor Gloria Van Duyn administers the oath to new council member David Voelker.
The minutes from the June 10thregular meeting were presented. A motion was made byDoyle and seconded by Uhingto approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried.
The Water / Sewer Project and the Water Meter Replacement Project were discussed at the informational meeting on Monday, July 8th, 2013 at the Colman City Park after the community picnic. And a Question and Answer session took place with members of Utiliuse and Clark Engineering present.
Deidra Thompson discussed the pool. She discussed how many pool memberships the pool has this year, the free swim on July 8th, teen night on Tuesday July 9th and other promotions, and the closing date being Friday, August 16th.
The financial report for June was presented. A motion was made by Doyle and seconded byMayto approve the financials as presented. Motion carried.
The bill list for July was presented. Motion was made byMay and seconded by Uhing to approve the bill list as presented. Motion carried.

Nuisance Properties were discussed. Mike Christiansen informed some council members that he has been cleaning up his yard and has plans to move his business out of Colman. His property at 305 N Main will be inspected periodically and is not permitted to have a junkyard or scrap metal business on the premises as it is zoned residential.

A motion was made by Mayand seconded byDoyle to adjourn at 8:59 pm. Motion carried.
