3rd Round of the Liquorland National Enduro Championship

Held under the General Competition Rules and Standing Supplementary Regulations of Motorsport South Africa (MSA), these Supplementary Regulations,Eastern Province Circular EP 1/2011,and any Final Instructions issued by the Organisers.

  1. EVENT AND STATUS
  2. The event will be known as the ROVER NATIONALENDURO and will be run in the Humansdorp District. It will start at 19h00 on 11th May 2011 when Documentation commences and will be deemed to have finished once the results are final.

3.2.The event will form theround 3 of the 2011 Liquorland National Enduro Championship and round 2 of the EP Regional Enduro Championship.

3.3 Crossing of Public/District Roads

As the organizer we have fully acquainted ourselves with Enduro Art 20 with regards to crossing of public/district roads.

We the organizers are also aware and have acquainted ourselves with the provisions of Section 317

of the Road Traffic Act and confirm that the event officials have been made aware of the above

section. By allowing the event to proceed we accept that all requirements are complied with and where applicable all relevant permissions are in place.

  1. EVENT DESCRIPTION

4.1 General, Refer to Enduro article 1.

4.2 The route will consist of a combination of Regularity and Special tests.

4.3 There will be no overnight impound

4.4 The event will be run on real time

4.5The route will consist ofloops of approx. 55 km. There will be oneDSP for all competitors .

4.6The MX test will be open to be walked from 08h00 on Friday 13th May 2011 – at Twisters

  1. ELIGIBILITY AND PRE-START REQUIREMENTS
  2. Competitors
  3. All competitors must comply with Enduro Art 9(a).
  4. All competitors must be the holders of a MSA Licence endorsed for Off Road or Enduro applicable to the class entered.

Where the entrant is not the rider, an entrants licence must be obtained from MSA prior to the submission of the entry form, failing which the entrant’s name may not be published in the Official Programme or Results.

5.2.Motorcycles.

5.2.1.All motorcycles must comply with Enduro Art 9(b).

5.2.2.All competitors who have not yet obtained an annual competition number from MSA must do so prior to entering by contacting Cindy on 011 4662440

5.3.Advertising

Competitors attention is drawn to GCR 246(iii) which makes it a condition of entry to display the event sponsor’s advertising material supplied by the Organisers.Refer also to GCR 247 ). This advertising must be displayed on competing motorcycles on theLEFT Fork area between the triple clamps and the sliders (upside down forks) or the area of the lower front forks (conventional forks) AND MUST BE FORWARD FACING. Inspection of these will be carried out at the Start and any competitor not complying will not be allowed to start the event, until they comply, no time allowance will be giving to comply. Replacement decals will be available at the Start at R500 per set. If a competitor needs replacement decals prior to the start, they will be provided free of charge.

5.4.Acquaintance with and Submission to the Rules

5.4.1.Competitor's attention is drawn to GCR 122.

  2. A change of rider or machine, but not both, may be permitted by the Stewards of the Meeting, refer GCR’s 99(vii), 152(viii), 238(i) and 259. Any application for such change must be made inwriting and must reach the Clerk of the Course 24 hours before the examination time of the machine - Enduro Art 16.

8.3.Faxed/E-mail Entries

Faxed/e-mail entries will be accepted in accordance with GCR 96.

Competitors wishing to enter by fax or e-mail must deposit their entry fee directly into the club’s bank account as detailed below and are to fax the slip and their entry, self scrutineering and medical information forms to the number given below. please enter your name and competition number under the reference on the deposit slip to ensure that it gets credited to the correct entry. Competitors entering by fax or e-mail are requested to bring their original entry and medical information forms and deposit slips to documentation.

9.2.Official Notice Board

The Official Notice Board will be situated at Twisters , Humansorp. All results and official notices will be posted on this board and competitors are requested to check the notice board periodically.

  2. All competitors will be required to complete documentation on Wednesday 4th May 2011 or Friday 13th May 2011

or Saturday 14th May 2011 (Prior arrangement only)

  1. RIDERS BRIEFING

A riders briefing will be held on 14th May 2011 at 07h30 on the starting line at Main Control.Riders briefing is compulsory.

  1. IMPOUND AND FINAL EXAMINATION
  2. The event will be run on an Open Control System and there will be no overnight impound
  3. Final Examination - Refer Enduro Art 42.

  2. The Start / Finish will be at Twisters, Humansdorp
  3. THE EVENT WILL HAVE A DEAD ENGINE START
  4. There will be one working area for all competitors - Refer Enduro Art 24 – Outside Assistance
  5. Refuse bags will be issued at Documentation - Please assist us to keep these areas clean, dispose of all waste and papers in these bags and dump these in the demarcated areas.

14.2.Incident Report Forms

All competitors will be issued with an Incident Report Form at documentation. Should a competitor fail to report any incident involving damage to any person or property, he / she will be penalised in addition to the penalty laid down in Enduro Art 27,

14.3.Retirement

Should a competitor retire from the event he is to immediately notify the nearest radio marshal/official of this fact in writing.

14.4.Route

14.4.1.Livestock and game may be encountered along the route and you are requested to give them the right of way at all times.

14.4.2.In many places the route may be narrow and dust may also be a problem, you should therefore afford any competitor who has caught up with you, every opportunity to overtake.

14.4.3.The residents in the area have afforded us the privilege of staging this event through both populated and remote areas. Please exercise caution through farms and cultivated areas and where livestock is concerned and also beware of children in the vicinity of the route. In order that this event may continue to take place in the future, competitors are required to act responsibly.

14.5.Medical Assistance Refer Enduro Art 25

WHEN AN AMBULANCE IS ENCOUNTERED ON THE ROUTE, IT HAS RIGHT OF WAY AT ALL TIMES!!

  10. RESULTS
  11. Provisional results for the event will be posted as soon as possible after the last competitor completes the event on Saturday 14thMay 2011at Race Headquarters. GCR 200.
  12. Competitors attention is drawn to Parts IX and X and Appendix “R” of the MSA Handbook for protests and appeals.
  13. Should there be an unreasonable delay in announcing the results the Stewards of the Meeting may postpone such announcement. Refer to GCR 280(ii).
  14. PRIZE GIVING
  15. Prize giving at Twisters will commence at 20h30 on 14th May 2011subject to the results being final.
  1. AWARDS
  2. All awards will be presented to the rider, unless the entrant claims the awards in writing upon entering the event. Refer to GCR 281(i).
  3. Competitors must be classified as finishers of the event to be eligible for awards that are based on the final results of the event. Refer to GCR 281(iv). This however, does not apply to special awards, which the Organisers may choose to make.
  4. All awards will be distributed at prize giving. Any competitor who is not present and who has not made a prior arrangement with the Clerk of the Course or Secretary of the Meeting shall forfeit all such awards. Competitor's attention is drawn to GCR 280(iii) and Enduro Art 48.
  5. Awards in the form of trophies will be made to the riders placed 1st to 6th in all national classes and 1st to 3rd in other classes. Finishers’ awards will be awarded to all competitors classified as finishers.

  1. RIGHTS OF THE CLERK OF THE COURSE / PROMOTERS AND ORGANISERS
  2. The Clerk of the Course reserves the right (subject to the approval of the Stewards of the Meeting) to:
  3. Alter the departure times and route if it is found necessary to do so.
  4. Alter the starting and scoring methods, if it is found necessary to do so.
  5. The Promoters / Organisers reserve the right (subject to the approval of MSA) to:

a)Postpone, abandon or cancel the event for reasons of “force majeure” (Refer to GCR’s 62 and 244).

In theevent of postponement for more than twenty-four hours entrants will be refunded their entry fee. Refer GCR 109(iv).

b)Postpone, abandon or cancel the event if fewer than 175 paid up entries are received by the time entries close. Refer to GCR 99(v).

c)Refuse any entry. Refer to GCR’s 99(i) and 100.

d)Limit the number of entries in the Social, Novice and Club Classes.
