WEIGH-INS: Home weigh-ins need to be submitted by 8:00 pm the Thursday prior to that Saturdays tournament. Regional and State tournaments will have on site weigh-ins.
REGISTRATION: For membership see, and go to membership.
AWARDS: First and Second place medal for a six man bracket. Championship medal only for any bracket with 5 or less wrestlers..
ENTRY FEE$10(Electronic payment of registration fees is required at the time of tournament registration.)
ADMISSION$5.00 (age 5 and under free)
AGE GROUPSAge Groups are determined by Grade Level. Proof of grade will be required if wrestler is challenged within the first two rounds of competition. A School ID is the only form of validation that will be accepted.
RULESModified High School Rules
All Michigan residentsMUST be a WAAAM member to compete in events.
Singlet or t-shirt and shorts are required.
Mouth guards Mandatory for wrestlers with braces.
Hair caps attached to headgear Mandatory for wrestlers not groomed to HS standards. (Hair length must be
above eyebrow, earlobes, and collar.).
Wrestlers may move up one (1) grade level at the Junior High division, and High School may move up one (1) or
all.
WT. CLASSESSix (6) man blocked weight charts for developmental tournaments. Regional and State tournaments are;
9th-12th;100, 109, 118, 125, 131, 136, 141, 145, 151, 158, 166, 177, 195, 220, HWT (290).
6th- 8th ; 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 155, 165, 185, HWT (250)
OTHER INFOOnly two coaches per mat will be permitted at any time. Anyone operating video equipment on the mat will be considered a coach.
