The TREC GB Winter Series runs from Oct 1st 2017 until March 31st 2018.

Events may take place indoors or outdoors and do not need to be run on an artificial surface – but given the likely weather conditions it is expected that the majority of classes will be held indoors.

Any events that require postponement must still be held on or before the 31st March 2018 to be counted for the league.

Where facilities allow the MA and PTV phases may take place in different arenas. Please note that the MA score will be halved and then added to the PTV scores.

Classes may be run in any order.

Suggested extra class (and rules)

Handicap class – found to work very well.

Open to riders of any level – course set to Novice/Intermediate standard.

Each rider receives a handicap score and this is then added to the score that they achieve for their round on the day. To calculate a riders’ handicap score –take average of that horse and riders scores from the previous season. Subtract this average score from 130 (max score for the round). If a rider has no score from last year use the lowest handicap score.

Handicap scores will probably need to be modified during the season to reflect current performance.

Judges need to be very consistent in their scoring especially on style marks as the class is designed to try and get every rider to finish with a score of 130
