Overview of the position

SageSavories is a product line of frozen meals, soups and desserts focused to the nutritional needs of seniors as well as those physically challenged and/or isolated. This position would research potential markets and sectors where the Sage Savories would be useful. This would include, but not be limited to Home Care companies, public health nurses, hospital staff, doctors and dieticians. Once the markets are identified, the Product Representative would make contacts and arrange meetings to show case the product. This would include product demonstration when needed. The goal of the Product Representative is to ensure people recommending meal services are familiar with the Sage Savories line.

Follow through with customer satisfaction inquiries /
  • Work with the Food Services Manager to identify potential sectors that would have interest in the products.
  • Produce necessary documentation to assist in the marketing of the product along with current menus and nutritional information.
  • Make contacts (telephone and mail outs) to established identified markets in order to build relationships and showcase the products.
  • Conduct customer surveysto establish feedback on products and services.

Volunteer Coordination /
  • Some work may be with the help of a Sage volunteer, mainly in marketing document preparation.

Community Relations /
  • Work with identified agencies to ensure their knowledge of the products and services

Planning and Program Development /
  • In consultation with the Food Services Manager, establish marketing strategies

Other Duties /
  • As deemed necessary

Sage Savories Product Representative

QUALIFICATIONS–Previous experience in sales and marketing and/or experience in the identified market sectors an asset. Dietician degree, health care industry experience or similar would be beneficial. Valid Alberta driver’s license as well as a dependable vehicle is required.

SKILLS: Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish relationships. Must be a self starter and able to work independently.

LENGTH OF POSITION – Temporary, contract: minimum 6 weeksto a maximum 10 weeks. Duration of contract will be determined by number of hours worked per week.

HOURS OF WORK- Monday through Friday

- 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (hours of work can be flexible)

SALARY- Contract: $20.00 per hour
