Welcome New and Returning Marching Band Families!

Now that we have officially started the 2017-18 Marching Season, it's time to start thinking about an area where you'd like to volunteer, and the visitor's concession stand wants YOU!

For those who don't know, the visitor's concession stand is run by the marching band parents at all HOME football games. All monies earned from the "stand" go directly back to the band. We have the best grill team in the stadium. They serve hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers. Plus, we have the most amazing parents who bake and send in sweet treats for our patrons to purchase. And, of course, we also sell the regular salty and sweet treats and pizza, along with a wide-array of different beverages to choose from.

In a typical season, we have five home games. However, this year, we only have four home games.Our first home game is Friday, September 22, and we need volunteers to help out since the visitor's concession stand will be OPEN FOR BUSINESS. Please go to the CHARMS calendar and click on the link for “Visitor’s Concessions” and sign-up. While there, you can also check out the sign-up for the other home games as well!

The choices for the concession stand are as follows:

  • Baking Team: Please bake 4 dozen homemade treats (cookies, brownies, rice krispy treats, etc.) and individually wrap or bag the treats for sale at $1 each.Please deliver before game time to the visitor’s concession stand so we can put them out to sell.
  • Grill Team: This group runs the grill, organizes the buns, and wraps the hamburgers and hot dogs for sale. This group works outside of the concession stand and is not responsible for selling in the stand or taking any money.
  • Concession Set-up and First Half Team: This group of volunteers needs to arrive by 5:00 (if possible) and help with set-up of the stand. This includes icing down and stocking drinks, wrapping pizza slices for sale, prepping the baked goods, setting out candy and chips among other tasks. In addition, this group will divide into sellers and runners…meaning people who take the money and people who handle the food and drinks.
  • 3rd Quarter Pre-order Meals: Volunteers should report to the stand at the end of 2nd Quarter.You will confirm the orders for both the home and away bands and pass out the food to students. You will be able to leave once the meals have been dispersed.
  • Concession Second Half and Clean-Up: This group does basically the same thing as the “First Half” group, but will start cleaning and closing up the stand during the fourth quarter of the game. This way, we are finished up by the time the marching band has left the field and headed back to the band room.We are usually finished by 10-10:30.
