Scanlan Oaks Elementary PTO Board Meeting
May 2, 2017
· A motion was made by Kim Lee to approve the April 2017 board meeting minutes. Motion was seconded by Meredith Canny and approved.
· A motion was made by Lauren Weller to approve the current budget (balance $67,061.98). Motion was seconded by Meredith Canny and approved.
· A motion was made by Stephanie Northcutt to nominate Danielle Hooks as the 2017-18 5th grade party chair. Motion was seconded by Cynthia Guerra and approved.
· A motion was made by Stephanie Northcutt to nominate the following as 2017-18 GLCs:
Kinder-Amber Green
First-Amber Acuna
Second-Jennifer McCullough
Third-Allyson Morris
Fourth-Kimber Morgan
Fifth-Jeanneca Manuel & Jill Howell
Motion was seconded by Kim Lee and approved.
· A motion was made by Stephanie Northcutt to nominate Allyson Morris as the 2017-18 JA chair. Motion was seconded by Kim Lee and approved.

Principal’s Update: Mrs. Geis
· Thank you to the board for all you do!
· New staff has been hired, still looking for a few more.
· It will be a busy May! (Teacher Appreciation Week, Field Days 5/5 and 5/12, PTO meeting, and awards days).
· Mrs. Geis would like to do something special for the kids rezoning to Leonetti (extra recess, pep rally, something like that).
· Student council is purchasing a “friendship bench” for Leonetti.
President’s Update: Stephanie Northcutt
· VIPS of the month for April are Courtney Dicke and Kate Lemos; May are Thuy Flosser and Charlyn Davis.
· Way to go on carnival and Welcome Party!
· Please meet with people taking new positions to pass on notebooks, PO Box keys, etc…
· Stephanie is working on quotes to repair the pavers in the butterfly garden for the special projects budget next year.
· Meredith will help us get money to Leonetti for next year.
· Great year! Today is the last daytime meeting!
· General meeting is tonight at 6 PM in the library.

· A motion was made by Kim Lee to approve the PTO board meeting minutes from May 2017. It was seconded by Meredith Canny and approved.
Treasurer: Lauren Weller
· A motion was made by Lauren Weller to approve the current budget (balance $67,061.98). Motion was seconded by Meredith Canny and approved.

· The summer meeting will be Thursday, July 27 at 10 AM in the library.
· Lunch for Stephanie will be May 25 at 11 AM at Ulas.
2nd Vice President: Robin Strickland, Stephanie Reilly, Tracie Bates
· Jaime would like to wait to do spirit wear until the fall.
· A check for $801.90 was received for box tops!
Educational Enrichment: Misty Choice, Shanda Guillory-McClure, Pam Bund
· The teachers will be running the stations for Field Day.
· Thank you Lis for coordinating/running tug of war! Meredith will be running event on 5/5 and Lis will be there on 5/12.
· 3rd-5th grades still have not done in house field trips, might combine budgets and do something big for all 3.

· The VIPS of the Year plaque is missing from the VIPS room.
· The VIPS of the Year luncheon is May 17.
