Bright Ideas – for new and pre business start-up ventures

Choose 1 of the following:

  • 2 page Executive Summary
  • Link to 3 minute video presentation

Promising Business Accelerations – for existing businesses (one year or more)

Choose 1 of the following:

  • 3 page Executive summary
  • Link to 5 minute video presentation

Submission Deadline: 11:59 pm April 1, 2015

Finalists Notified: 11:59 pm April 12, 2015

The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • The opportunity and value proposition – What target market will this product or service address? Why will this venture be better than what is currently available?
  • Market Size – What is the probable size of the market in terms of revenues and net income?
  • Business Model – How will the opportunity be addressed? How will sales and operations be conducted? Will this be a manufacturing, wholesale, retail, on-line or combination of structures?
  • Call to Action – What are you requesting and what do you need in order to realize the opportunity?
  • Quality of the video presentation – Judges will evaluate how compelling and well done your video message is presented.

Finalists must be present at the April 22 competition. Bright Ideas will be limited to a 3 minute (180 second) presentation, and Promising Business Accelerations will be limited to a 5 minute (300 second) presentation. Each presenter will have an additional 1 minute to set-up and an additional 1 minute to take down.

The decision of the judges is final. Winners will be announced shortly after 4:00 pm.

Submitting your Executive Summary

  1. Fill out the information on the Submittal Form (below) including the link to your video.
  2. Type or insert your Executive Summary in the space provided and Check Appropriate Box(Bright Idea or Business Acceleration Competition).
  3. Save the document as an Adobe Pdf file.
  4. Attach the saved file to an email and send it to with INNOVATION listed as the Subject of the email.
  5. Note the length limits – Bright Ideas (Max. of 2 pages) and Promising Acceleration (Max. of 3 pages). Only the first 2 or 3 pages of the Executive Summary will be presented to the judges.
