Job Summary / To support the school-wide vision for infusing digital literacy into the school learning environment
Main Accountabilities /
  • Work with the Digital Literacy Coordinator to support effective and meaningful digital literacy curriculum design
  • Support the continued development, programming and growth of the DC online learning environment – Moodle – especially providing ongoing PD and support for classroom teachers/students
  • Assist students and teachers in the pedagogy and infusion of a digital literacy curriculum within their class environments
  • Support in class teaching of the highest quality as and when school needs require and directed by the DLC
  • Provide support for the creation and documentation of the digital resources in classrooms
  • Participate in year level collaborative planning at the request of the DLC
  • Keep abreast of current trends and developments appropriate to DL and support opportunities to present these to staff (Software/Web 2.0 apps)
  • Support “just in time” professional learning for teachers/staff organised by the Digital Literacy Coordinator
  • Support and encourage the Digital Citizenship policy and guidelines within the school
  • Advise on the ordering of appropriate DL and AV supplies and materials
  • Provide regular feedback to the DLC concerning the effectiveness of programmes and additional initiatives
  • Perform other duties which may reasonably be assigned from time to time by the DLC, these may include supporting specific digital literacy projects and administration tasks related to events

Typical reporting relationship / Senior Staff
Minimum typical education / Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum typical experience / At least one year primary classroom experience at an education assistant level.
Core Professional/Technical Competencies required / Abilities
  • Sound understanding and experience in the use and importance of digital literacy in teaching and learning, including; in class experience with children and teachers, wide-ranging professional experience, depth of content knowledge, and commitment to infused curriculum
Knowledge
  • General understanding of main learning technologies available for class use; including development of websites, PHP (and other web technologies) and software skills, use of web2.0 apps, use of mobile technologies
