Length of Employment:This post will be for an initial fixed term period of one year, with a possible extension based on performance
Pensions:Access is available to the company pension scheme
Holidays:12 public holidays plus 25 days accrued holiday per annum.
Sick Pay:After one years’ completed service, access to company sick pay allowance

Job title: Employment Liaison Officer

Background
West Fife Enterprise is a community based training organisation located within the west Fife villages which was established in 1983 to help overcome the financial and social exclusion barriers for those affected by the demise of coal mining and heavy industry in the area.
Working alongside our network of employers, WFE offers a range of vocational training programmes for young people, adult returners and adults who have found it difficult to find, and stay, in work. Programmes focus on developing specific vocational and personal skills in order to improve the potential to secure and sustain employment.
WFE currently employs 20 members of staff and provides training opportunities for around 100 people per year. An organisational chart outlining the staff structure is attached to this document.
WFE are currently funded through the Big Lottery fund, Fife Council, Fife College and, as a member of the Third Sector Consortium in Fife, have access to European Structural Funds.
WFE’s main objective is “to relieve poverty principally among the residents of coalfield communities” through:
- the promotion of employment training opportunities
- enterprise development
- The promotion of activity for community benefit
OverallJobPurpose
This post is responsible for identifying and developing employment opportunities and routes into employment, including education and training,for our participants. You will be expected to promote the training services provided by the organisation and produce appropriate promotional materials as well as co-ordinating communication with local employers. This will include representation of the organisation directly to employers to establish and maintain opportunities for work placements, work trials and direct employment opportunities. You will establish systems to analyse employer need and provide input into the organisation’s design/tailoring of training services to meet such need.
KeyResponsibilities:
Client Support
- To work with participants assisting them to:
- Identify their skills and employment aspirations
- Compile written media, eg CV’s
- Job Search using a variety of media including the internet
- Advocate between participants and other agencies
- To market individual participants to employers/further education/training opportunities, using a range of marketing strategies
- To locate paid jobs, deliver outcomes and meet targets as part of the programmes currently run by the organisation
- To devise, implement, deliver and monitor appropriate support strategies (for individuals and employers) to enable our participants to perform effectively in the job, the working environment and the employers’ expectations to sustain employment
- To ensure the service complies with standards set by WFE and meets the contractual requirements of relevant external agencies
- Provide aftercare support for all relevant participants which will comprise of a brief number of scheduled visits or contacts whilst in employment to ascertain compatibility of outcome and determine if further support/guidance is required
Monitoring and Reporting
- To record and summarise notes from participant meetings using IT and paper systems as required by the projects and the funders
- To maintain files ensuring that they are up to date and contain relevant signed documents as required by the projects and the funders
- To assist in the evaluation and monitoring of the project and with reporting to funders/stakeholders
- Establish a clear analytical recording system to establish the destinations of all participants including original source exit reports and details of employers, occupations, further education/training destinations, sustainability of such and report on destinations at regular performance review meetings.
