1. Purpose

2. Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To manage staff ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the facilities, including opening up and closing down procedures, in line with the designated Normal Operating Procedures, College policies and national codes of practice
  • To supervise the smooth operating of rotas, timetables and programmes and all associated routine administration tasks.
  • To deliver instruction, guidance and advice to customers in line with accredited standards, Codes of Practice, legislative requirements and guidelines individually, in courses and classes.
  • To liaise with HR for the purposes of staff recruitment, induction and training, ensuring all staff are fully up-to-date.
  • To promote and market all sports facilities to monitor and meet income based on targets set
  • To supervise centre staff on a day to day basis, ensuring performance potential isoptimised and all work is carried out to the high standards set.
  • To ensure that the highest level of customer service is being delivered at all times.
  • Develop and managecustomer relations to maximise usage and income.
  • Ensure that customer comments and complaints are handled professionally, with issuesbeing escalated as and when necessary, to the appropriate member of staff.
  • To oversee and supervise activities taking place within the sports centre and on the 3G pitch.
  • To assist in the administration of the centre’s programme of activities, including bookings and cash handling.
  • To act appropriately in the event of an emergency in line with the college procedures.
  • To ensure security of buildings including opening and closing of facilities.
  • Participate in staff development activities and the College’s appraisal system.
  • To be flexible and adaptable in regards to working hours.
  • To administer First Aid as appropriate.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required, commensurate with the grade and scope of this post and agreed with the relevant line manager. This may include supporting college events which may be outside normal hours of work.
