2016 CHANHASSEN ROTARY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships are open to graduating seniors who attend Chanhassen High School OR residents of Chanhassen that will be a graduating senior from any high school; public, private or home school. (Chaska Rotary Club/Grace Gibson Foundation Scholarship is available for Chaska High School students who reside outside of Chanhassen– separate application)
Scholarships Awarded
Approximately 20 scholarships will be awarded, amount will vary, approximately $500-$2500
Scholarship Selection is based on the following:
- Community service (service above self)
- Personal and Academic goals
- School activities, extra curricular activities, etc.
- Achievement (personal and scholastic)
Community Service, essay answers, and project ideas are more important. While grades are considered for the award, they are not a significant criterion for the scholarship. Strongest consideration will be given to students involved in community service.
Applications are available at the Guidance offices at Chanhassen, Minnetonka and Holy Family High Schools as well at the Rotary Club of Chanhassen’s web site –

Requirements
- Application must be completed and received by the deadline above. The more thorough your responses, the better your chances will be to selected as a finalist and to receive a scholarship.
- The student must be a graduating senior in good standing from an area high school; public, private or home school.
- A commitment to attend a two to four-year college, university or technical school.
- Proof of Chanhassen residency is required for students attending a high school other then Chanhassen High School.
- Finalists will be required to give a brief presentation focusing on a local or worldwide issue. Finalists will be provided additional details regarding the presentation as well as the location, date and time the presentation is to be given.
- Application including student’s e-mail address must be correct and legible. Rename this document as LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_ROTARYCHANHASSEN2016 before submitting as above.
Payment will be madeto the recipient’s school after proof of registration for Fall 2016 is presented along with our Rotary request form and a copy of a fee statement from the school.
