iSky Panels Expands With New Products at CEDIA
StJohn Group to Launch Synergistic Products for Award-Winning Star-Field Lighting Panel System
CEDIA Expo, Denver Co, September 6, 2007 — Fiberoptic Studio Corp, the creators of iSky Panel Systems, announced a bevy of new introductions to augment their innovative line of star-field acoustical panel products. The new models build on the brand’s considerable experience in acoustics, installed panels as well as LED and fiber optic lighting. Combined with their versatile uRay LED lighting strips, iSky’s new products add considerable depth to their product line, and offer a one-stop shop for a dealer’s acoustical and lighting needs.
Featured among the company’s new introductions at CEDIA are:
· “CoolWhite” uRay LED lighting strip for providing neutral bias backlighting of projection screens, prosceniums and flat panel displays for greater perceived contrast ratio. CoolWhite uRay strips, designed for accenting A/V cabinets and furniture, stairs, risers, under seats as well as edge lighting iSky Panels
· A complete line of SerenityWalls, iSky’s new acoustical wall panels, are available in standard and custom sizes, 48 colors as well as in 1”, 2” and 3” thicknesses. Add optional uRay LED backlighting to create a soft glow of light around the panels perimeter. uRay is available in a choice of four colors, CoolWhite, Blue, Red and Amber.
· Crestline “Grid” is a complete drop-ceiling metal grid system, stocked in matching black & white, with custom colors available. Now from iSky, complete Star Ceiling Systems including Grid, Simple Plug & Play Star Panels, complementary matching matte black (and white) filler panels and accessories are available in one spot. Currently available in black and white sizes; 8 foot pieces can ship via UPS.
· Softex Plus™ Fiberglass Ceiling Panels, by iSky, in non-glare matte black for color matching to iSky’s Drop-In star panels, or available in white for Grid ceiling projects that would benefit from better sound absorption than standard “big box” ceiling tiles. Currently available in 24”x24” (packed 24per/box) and 24”x48” (packed 12per/box) with no minimum order requirements.
· AirCable proprietary Cable mounting system for Cloud Mount Panels, that is quicker and easier to install with a luxurious nickel finish. AirCable reduces the number of hanging points, saving time and money, and allows for the panels to snug into each another for cleaner seams and installation. Available late in Q4 2007 for a retail price starting at $8.75 per mount.

“CoolWhite” uRay LED lighting strip
The ultimate product for backlighting screens and displays for bias lighting or for adding low level linear lighting to equipment racks and more, the “CoolWhite” is a welcome new member to the existing color line up of Blue, Red and Amber. Dubbed “CoolWhite” by iSky is perfect for anyone who cares about getting the most from their projector and screen investment.
When task lighting is required in the theater, 6500 Kelvin (daylight) bias lighting has long been preferred by video experts and studios alike so as to prevent any unnecessary re-calibration of the projector or display device. Proper bias lighting is a science unto itself, but when done properly, will enhance the viewer’s experience dramatically by improving the perceived contrast ratio of the image while easing any potential eye strain from a totally darkened room.
CoolWhite uses the same drivers and connectors as the company’s original uRay. With the standard UL listed 36 watt Driver, one can light up to two runs of 25 feet for a total of 50 feet, or 50 feet powered from both ends. Mounting is achieved via a super sticky 3M™ doubled-sided tape. Appropriate connectors and driver are ordered separately. Limited quantities are available in stock now.
SerenityWalls Acoustical Wall Panels
iSky’s new acoustical wall panels come with a novel new twist. Whether it’s a standard size panel, or one fabricated to your specifications, an installer can now add the desired backlighting option that has made iSky Star Ceiling Panels so popular. With iSky’s patent-pending design, a glowing backlight effect can be added to the back of panels at the factory and then shipped direct to the dealer or job-site, ready to be plugged in and mounted.
iSky’s standard SerenityWall panels are fabricated from 6 lb. fiberglass and wrapped in Guilford’s 100% recycled terratex fabric. Both standard and custom sizes are available in three thicknesses and 48 colors. The standard fabric is Guilford’s industry standard FR701 style 2100, commonly referred to as 701.
Available thicknesses are one, two and three inches; when using iSky uRay backlighting, one additional inch is added to the panel’s thickness. For an additional charge, fabric can be upgraded to the popular Anchorage (Style 2335) from Guilford. Anchorage is the standard fabric on all of iSky’s Surface and Cloud Mount Star Panels.
Standard sizes for the acoustical panels are as follows (in inches):
24x24, 24x36, 24x48, 24x96, 30x48, 36x48, 36x60, 48x48, 48x60, and 48x96.
Custom sizes are available to order in square and rectangle, provided it is a finished size less than 48x96 inches. Custom shapes are available but require a factory quote and approved drawings in advance.
Hardened square edges and adhesive mounts are standard on all panels. Mounting options include an impaler, Z-Clip, adhesive, Velcro, or RotoFast™ anchors. Retail pricing starts at $15.75 per square foot for a standard or custom square or rectangle panel, one inch thick, square edges, and one of 48 colors available in the 701 line. Angled cuts, curves, or edge shaping other than square are available, as well as factory installed uRay backlighting, for an additional charge and a lead time of three to six weeks.
iSky’s uRay lighting strips are available for factory install with SerenityWalls in four standard colors; CoolWhite, Blue, Amber and Red, to add depth and drama.

Cloud installations by which the panels are hung on aircraft cables or chains can also be specified. Dimensions of 24”, 30” and 48” square allow for ultimate flexibility in panel arrangement and coverage, with custom models available upon request. With the standard UL listed 36 watt Driver, up to 50 panels can be wired from one common low voltage “wall-wart” power supply.
