The Big Weekend is a free entertainment event on the central area of Parkers Piece 10th- 12th July.

Saturday 11this a family entertainment day that includes local bands, walkabout entertainers, children’s entertainment, and community areas. Saturday attendance is approximately 15,000.

Renewed for 2015, we will be providing a “food hall” marquee on Saturday onlyto promote speciality local independent food producers. If you are interested in being part of this please complete the application form below and return by the deadline Monday 15th June 2015.

There is an on-site bar and some catering units. No glass or alcohol allowed due to current licensing arrangements.

All pitches will be 10ft wide frontage to accommodate 1 trestle table only and will be marked out and allocated by the event organisers.

We will notify you if you have been accepted no later than the17th June 2015.

All payments to be received in advance of the event.

  1. Completed forms must be returned by Monday 15th June 2015.
  1. Note that all egg products must be free range. Wherever possible, teas, coffees and hot chocolate should be Fair Trade.
  1. No access will be permitted onto site until 8.30am Saturday ready for trading at 12 noon until approximately 8pm. (you can leave after 6pm if you agree it with HQ on site on day)
  1. Accepted traders do not have sole rights to trade at the event.
  1. Repairs for any damage made to the grass or surroundings, particularly by oil or burning will be charged for and may affect your return to the event.
  1. Items for sale e.g. jams/chillies can be sold in glass however, instant consumables like bottles of drink can only be sold in biodegradable packaging.
  1. The following food safety guidelines must be followed

Keeping Food Safe

  • Wash hands thoroughly and regularly with soap and warm water:
  • Before and during preparing food,
  • After handling raw meat,
  • Before handling ready to eat foods such as salads or sandwiches.

Preventing Cross Contamination

  • Keep raw meat separate from other foods.
  • If defrosting food, place the plate on the bottom shelf of the fridge – don’t allow any juices to drip onto other foods.
  • Clean and disinfect chopping boards and work surfaces.

Store Foods Properly

  • Keep foods refrigerated and frozen (as appropriate).
  • Keep cold foods cold (below 8 degrees).
  • Keep Hot Foods Hot (above 63 degrees).

Cook foods thoroughly

  • Cook meat thoroughly – use an accurate thermometer to make sure that food is thoroughly cooked.
  • Cook eggs thoroughly, they should be firm and not runny.
  1. Anyone found in breach of these terms and conditions will be asked by the Event Manager to cease trading and vacate the site.
  1. Cambridge Live: On 1st April 2015, Cambridge City Council transferred the operation of the Big Weekend to a charitable company, Cambridge Live (registered company number 09034452, registered charity number 1159593, with registered office at Parsons Court, Wheeler Street, Cambridge, CB2 3QE) (the “Charity”). This is part of a wider transfer of arts and educational activities currently undertaken by Cambridge City Council to the Charity, which will allow these vital Cambridge cultural institutions to grow and thrive. We have committed to long term contractual arrangements with the Charity as well as financial support for the next 5 years. The experienced management and staff that you currently deal with will transfer to the Charity so your day-to-day contacts will remain the same. As part of the transfer on 1st April 2015, notwithstanding anything in the Agreement, Cambridge City Council may, at its election, assign or transfer any or all of its rights and obligations, or transfer by way of novation all of its rights, obligations and liabilities, under the Agreement, to the Charity or to Cambridge Live (Trading) Limited (registered company number 09038201, with registered office at Parsons Court, Wheeler Street, Cambridge,CB2 3QE), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Charity, and you hereby consent to such assignment, transfer or novation. You agree to use your reasonable endeavours to comply with our reasonable requests to affect any such assignment, transfer or novation contemplated under the previous paragraph.
