From the Joint Board
Redeemer Moravian Church welcomes
Pastor John Fritts & wife Anne
Redeemer has been without a Pastor since our Pastor of the last 11 years (Rev. George Richmond) retired on April 1, 2013. The Joint Board and the Eastern District Executive Board have been diligently working to fill this crucial vacancy. Early on the congregation was asked to complete a survey to express their opinions on different issues. In addition a Congregation Profile was submitted. Contact between the EDEB and the Joint Board has been ongoing.
On June 11th the Board had an opportunity to meet Pastor Fritts and his wife at Redeemer.
He is looking forward to coming to Redeemer and prays for the feeling to be mutual.
Installation is scheduled for Sunday, June 14th, during the morning service- Reception to follow
The following should give you a bit more insight into Pastor John Fritts:
BIOGRAPHY OF JOHN FRITTS
I grew up in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, graduated from Phillipsburg High School, earned my Associates Degree in Business at Raritan Valley College, and my Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from DeSales University. I am currently attending Moravian Theological Seminary and anticipate graduating with my Masters in Divinity degree in May 2014.
For 30+ years, I worked in the printing industry. In the spring of 2009, I acknowledged God calling me to ministry, and I enrolled in Moravian Theological Seminary part time in the fall
of 2009 while working full time at Cadmus Cenveo in Easton, PA. In August of 2010, my wife, Anne and I, sold our home and moved into seminary housing in Bethlehem where we currently reside.
Anne is the Administrative Assistant at Schoeneck Moravian Church. We have two daughters, Kelcie and Allison. Kelcie is married to Justin Hartman and they live in the York, Pennsylvania area. She is employed as an emotional support teacher in the Dallastown School District. Allison is a senior at Lock Haven University majoring in Biology. I am the son of Warren and Florence Fritts, and the grandson of the Rev. Dr. Ferdinand and Marie Drebert, who were Moravian missionaries in Alaska for 42 years.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as your pastor. My wife and I look forward to becoming a part of this church family and participating in the ministry of Redeemer Moravian Church.

LOOKING OUT FOR THE KINGDOM
Developing a Heart for Ministry
Theme:
The Foundation of Christian Commitment
Scripture: Romans 12: 6-8; Acts 20:20
Acts 20:20.” I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught it to you, publicly and from house-to-house. If our gift is to speak God’s message, we should do it according to the faith that we have; if it is to serve, we should serve; if it is to teach, we should teach; if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others should do it generously; whoever has authority should work hard; whoever shows kindness to others should do it cheerfully.
After giving our life to Christ, what comes next? Christian ministry and service is not an option; it’s an imperative. Let’s look at two essentials of our ministry.
1. Our ministry depends on Spiritual gifts (Romans 12:6-8) We are not called to attempt ministry for God, for Christ ministers through us, through our spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are those given individually to each believer; they function in the realm of the Spirit and are the means of bringing the blessings of God, to others.
2. Our ministry depends on small groups (Acts 20:20). God has given us a pattern in his word for the church; celebrating together as a congregation, where we can receive sound teaching and sharing our lives together in small groups, where we can encourage and strengthen each other.
3. Therefore, the question is, are you using your spiritual gifts for the benefit of the Kingdom of God? Are you a part of a small group in your church? Whether it’s discipleship meeting, prayer group, bible studies, or Sunday school, we need outlets for our spiritual gifts and input from others to strengthen us.
So let me say……
There are two kingdoms available to us.
The Kingdom of God and The Kingdom of this World.
Which one are we committed to?
