Chief Executive Officer – Axis Counselling

Job Purpose: To provide inspirational leadership to all within the Organisation. To have ownership and responsibility for the strategic direction, development and future planning for the organisation and accountability of the overall delivery of Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) and counselling service, operating as an integral part of third sector, public and private sector provision, initially across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and surrounding areas.

Acting as an ambassador for the Organisation, the Chief Executive will provide the public face for campaigns and build relationships with stakeholders in politics, the media and business. The Chief Executive will also play a key role in motivating and engaging volunteers, staff and beneficiaries.

Ensure the Organisation provides a high quality service and develop outcome measures.

Strategy, Policy and Planning:
Play a leading role in the future direction and strategy within the Organisation.
Deliver the Organisations business plan.
Work closely with Trustees and management Committee to understand their long term vision and goals.
Implement and drive the strategy and vision set by the Trustees and management committee, ensuring consistent communication.
Analyse and plan potential areas of growth or development to diversify the charity’s services.
Financial resources and information
Responsible for the strategic financial management and performance of the organisation.
Responsible for planning to identify further funding opportunities.
Operate within the budget agreed and signed off.
Responsible for ensuring a sustainable income from individual, corporate, legacy and trust donations.
Review publicly available data to shape the direction of the organisation.
Maintain awareness of the risks and challenges that may affect the organisation. / Leadership
Provide inspirational Leadership to all direct reports and all employees within the business.
Ensure consistency across the Organisation.
Ensure that a culture pervades within the Organisation of trust, learning and providing an exceptional service to our clients.
Ensure that all staff within the Organisation are focused on delivering the mission and aims of the business.
Ensure that people managers are coached on their behaviours and offer advice to ensure continuous development.
In collaboration with HR Support, ensure that HR policies and procedures are implemented in an appropriate manner.
Relationship Management and promotion of organisation
Responsible for developing a marketing strategy that promotes and develops effective relationships with key audiences and partner organisations.
Responsible for identifying potential partners or development opportunities for the organisation.
Report to and work with the Trustees and management committee to lead the organisation.
Build relationships with politicians, the media, commissioners and local government officials in order to advance the organisation’s aims and secure funding.
