Overrides:

Overrides serve as a way for both the registrar and PAC to control the enrollment of students into PAC classes after the end of the first week of each term. Overrides are processed in several capacities, those reasons are outline bellowed.

Overrides before start of term: on occasion overrides will be processed for students prior to the start of the term. Several reasons are: students meet the prerequisite qualification but are unable to enroll, students have a time conflict with another class but will be able to attend most all PAC classes or their time conflict will not directly affect their participation in the course.

Overrides during 2nd week: most all other reasons for overrides fall within the second week of the term. Special Request (2nd week add), capacity of the class, prerequisite, or time conflict.

It is important when deciding to give an override that it be communicated that each condition of an override be identified. Meaning, if a student is requesting an override because they have a time conflict, but it also go over the capacity of class enrollment, then both must be selected. If not the override even though processed will not encompass all of the necessary conditions to override and will not work.

Students will also need to get the permission of the instructor to enroll. If the instructor decides to help speed up the process they may send the director and admin and email that encompasses the following: CRN of the course, students name and ID, the conditions for override. If the students gather the form for processing they will need to include all of the following and secure the signature from the instructor before processing the override. The override alone does not enroll students but gives them the opportunity to enroll. Students will still need to register for the exact CRN they have listed. They have a 24 hours timeframe from when the override is processed. If a student is in a waitlist, they will need to unregister from the waitlist and register for the course. It is important that while we work to help students through the process of overrides that we keep track of attendance and do not over enroll in our courses unless we can accommodate the total number of students.
