A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE WITH GRATITUDE MICHAEL BAKER FOR HIS CONSCIENTIOUS AND COURTEOUS SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE SENATE AND TO OFFER BEST WISHES TO HIM ON THE OCCASION OF HIS DEPARTURE TO JOIN THE PICKENS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
Whereas, Michael Baker has served the South Carolina State Senate for a number of Legislative Sessions and in a number of capacities; and
Whereas, his dedicated service has included: Page for Senator Larry Grooms and Senator Larry Martin; Mail Room Assistant; Legislative Assistant to Senator Martin and the Senate Rules Committee; and member of Senate Security; and
Whereas, he accomplished that service with unfailing courtesy although he was, during his tenure, a student in Criminal Justice at the University of South Carolina in Columbia and an honor graduate of the Criminal Justice Academy; and
Whereas, he leaves the Senate Chamber and the halls of the Gressette Building to join the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department; and
Whereas, the Senators that Michael Baker has so ably served trust that he and his Lab, “Jake”, will be able also to take advantage of the beautiful opportunities in Pickens County for pursuing his favorite pastimes: fishing, boating, and golfing; and
Whereas, all the people with whom he has come in contact will surely miss his generosity of spirit and warm smile. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That we recognize with gratitude Michael Baker for his conscientious and courteous service to the South Carolina State Senate and offer best wishes to him on the occasion of his departure to join the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Michael Baker.
