WHI Opportunities and News
- WHI Investigator Meeting – This year’s annual meeting will be held in Seattle, WA May 2-3, 2013at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. We hope all members will consider attending this important meeting.More information will follow as details are finalized. Registration will begin in March.
- Program Proposalfor WHI meeting accepted!This is thejoint program symposium proposal which includes the Nutrition/Energy Balance, Physical Activity/Body Composition, and Diabetes/Obesity SIGs.The Diabetes-Obesity SIG’s contribution to this is with obesity and the calibration energy biomarker self-report work being done.
- Abstracts for postersare currently under review. The top ten posters selected will receive a$500 travel awardto help support travel expenses to the meeting.

- Medications
- Randomized trials (JoAnn and/or Marcia): Iffunded, several opportunities for ancillary studies
- Value of following the cohort; subcohorts; cancer data
- Feasibility studies offerresource of data. New study idea (Karen): bisphenol A and obesity (bisphenol feasibility study now on-going)
