Grade Breakdown

A 0(Far Below Basic Knowledge 0%) represents: I did not attempt the learning target or the information I provided was not relevant to the question.

My Next Step: Contact Mrs. Lamb as soon as possible.

A 2.5 or below (Far Below Basic Knowledge < 50% )represents: I demonstrated weak or no conceptual understanding of the concept. I may have been absent when we discussed the material. I probably do not know how to start these problems or I get very confused very quickly. I may not know what most of the terms/words mean. I might also be making severe algebra mistakes.

My Next Step: Make sure I have all of the notes, do some practice problems, find some time to go to tutoring and/or talk to Mrs. Lamb one on one. Request reassessment when certain of knowledge.

A 3.25(Below Basic Knowledge – 65%)represents: I have a basic conceptual understanding. I may get some of the questions correct, but I am not consistent. I might be confused on what some of the definitions or symbols mean. I can usually do the problems when I work in a group or when Mrs. Lamb starts them for me, but I struggle on my own. Sometimes I think I did everything correctly but later realize I made a mistake. I might also be making several algebra mistakes.

My Next Step: Correct your test at tutoring or during an extra help session, do some practice problems, ask a friend or Mrs. Lamb for help after school or at lunch. Request reassessment when certain of knowledge.

A 3.75(Basic Knowledge – 75%)represents: I have a strong conceptual understanding, but I have not fully mastered this concept. I make several little mistakes – maybe forgetting to answer part of the question. Maybe I was not certain how to finish the problem. Maybe I keep making small algebra mistakes. Usually I get some of the questions correct, but I am not very consistent. It’s probably something small that I need to practice several times.

My Next Step: Make sure you understand the errors on your test. Correct your test. Do a few more practice problems to be certain. Request reassessment when certain of knowledge.

A 4.25(Proficient Knowledge – 85%)represents: I have demonstrated proficiency in the concept. My answers and process were correct and I showed all my work, but I made a few algebra mistakes. My answers are still wrong but I can avoid them if I am more careful with my algebra and arithmetic.

My Next Step: Correct my assessment and plan to reassess.

A 4.75(Proficient Knowledge – 95%) represents: I have demonstrated proficiency in the concept. My process was correct and I showed all my work, but I made one small algebra mistake. My answers are still wrong but I can avoid them if I am more careful with my algebra and arithmetic.

My Next Step: Nothing is necessary, but ensuring I understand my errors is important.

A 5(Mastery)represents: I have demonstrated mastery in the concept by making no mistakes on a skill.
