A Pro-forma Letter for use in:

Gathering Feedback from Students who have completed a module, programme or stage.

This letter was originally designed for use in gathering data from students who have completed a programme (e.g. a full degree). It can also be used to gather data from those who have completed a module or a stage.

It was adapted from material provided by James Wisdom, an independent educational consultant who can be contacted at

Dear (graduate or named person),

I am writing to you because you completed …………………….. at UCD and we are conduction a post-experience evaluation on this (module / programme / stage).

As someone who has recently completed the module / programme / stage, your views are particularly important. I do hope you will be able to spare a few minutes to reply to this request.

Your replies will help us to make improvements that will ensure future students have the best possible experience and that UCD’s reputation as a quality university is maintained.

There are only five very open questions. Please use them to comment on everything which was important to you about your experience on the module / programme. Your reply will be treated as confidential, and will be used to construct a report to the staff who designed, taught and administered the course.

I would be most grateful if you could send me your reply within two weeks.

May I thank you in advance for taking the time to respond to these questions.

With best wishes,

(Evaluator)
