Project Manager - Travel Training
Salary:£ 31,610
Full Time: 38.75 hours
Fixed term contract:1 year contract - renewable dependant on funding.
Location: Based in West Ealing, London, with responsibilities across Ealing, Hounslow, and Hillingdon.

The Organisation: Ealing Mencap
Ealing Mencap is one of the lead learning disability organisations in Ealing. Our mission is to campaign for people’s rights, create opportunities, showcase our customers’ talents and skills, breaks down barriers, overcome isolation and change lives.
Ealing Mencap run a wide range of projects which help people with learning disabilities and their families. This position would be based within our established Travel Training Team.
The Project:Travel Training and Travel Buddy
The Travel Training Project has been teaching children with disabilities to travel independently to school for over a decade. Achieving independence is a huge step for many young disabled people, and an even bigger one for their families. By using a creative but well-structured training programme, we have taught hundreds of disabled children to become safe, independent travellers, and have worked closely with schools, parents and local authorities to successfully establish a positive culture of independence. Ealing Mencap run Travel Training projects in the boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and Hillingdon.
The Travel Buddy project employs, trains and supports adults with disabilities to buddy other disabled people to travel safely on public transport. This gives meaningful employment to disabled people as well as ensuring other people with disabilities can access opportunities they would otherwise be unable to get to, and to do so as independently as possible.
The Role: Project Manager - Travel Training
An exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled project manager to lead our Travel Training and Buddy projects working across the boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and Hillingdon.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and strategic development of Travel Training projects teaching young disabled people to become safe, independent travellers.
In this varied and exciting role, you will work in partnership with schools, students, Local authorities, and families to ensure that Travel Training is effective, safe, and of the highest quality. You will ensure that the project promotes a positive culture of independence, whilst ensuring high levels of service uptake, meeting all targets, and reducing the reliance on borough funded transport.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual with excellent project management, leadership, and budgeting skills. Exceptional relationship building, communication skills, and the ability to solve problems creatively are essential for this role.
