Title:My Life Story

Objective: Students will create a slide show presentation about the life cycle of a butterfly.
Timeline: One hour

Procedures:
- Open KidPix 4.
- Create a title page for the slide show showing the smiling head of a caterpillar with the Pencil tool .
- Select the Solid Oval tool to draw the caterpillar's head.
- Add details with the Freehand tool .
- Click on the Text tool to type: My Life Story.
- Go to File>Save.
- Save as: Title.
- Go to File>New.
- Use the Solid Oval tool to create a large circle in the center of the slide.
- Draw an "egg" inside the circle.
- Use the Text tool to add the word: Egg to the slide.
- Save the slide as: Egg.
- Create three more pages showing with each showing one stage in the life cycle of a butterfly-- larva , pupa , and adult. Suggestion: Use the Paintbrush tool to create some interesting larva and adults.
- Save each page with the name of the stage.
- When all five pages are finished and saved, click on the Slide Show icon to move from the Paint Zone.
- Click on the Load Button below the first frame.
- Locate your "Title" page and click OK.
- Click on the Load Button below each of the next four slides and add the pictures for each stage of the butterfly's life.
- Click on the Slide Transitions icon , then on the red arrow that appears to the left of each slide to add sounds and transitions to each slide.
- Set the timing for each slide to 3-4 seconds.
- To view the slide show, click on the Play icon .
- Go to File>Save to save your slide show.
- Click on the Paint icon to return to the Paint Zone.
