THANK YOU FOR PLANNING YOUR PARTY WITH THE JCC of ROCHESTER

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do we go when we arrive ?

When you and your guests arrive, everyone will be required to check in at the front desk. Even if you are already a JCC member, you must still stop there. Non-members will berequired to show a drivers license. Each guest will be issued a visitors pass for the party. You/your guests will then be directed to a birthday party check in table. This table will be located on the far wall in front of you as you enter into the main lobby,(Kozel Way). At this time, each child’s name will be takenand a wrist band will be put on. This is very important as it helps the party hosts as well as lifeguards identify who is part of the birthday party. The parent’s name will also be taken along with whether or not they will be staying or leaving. A cell phone number will be required for any parent/s dropping off, even if they will be staying in the facility. After your guests are checked in, a party host willtake you and your guests to the party room as they arrive. If anyone shouldcome late, the front desk does have a detailed list of where your party is located in the building and your guests will be directed or escorted to that location. Parents may arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to the party start time. Your party host will help you get any food items to the party room and help you with any other decoration item/s that may need to be set up.

What is included with my package ?

The JCC will provide all of your paper products; plates, napkins, utensils, cups, tablecloths and balloons. We will decorate your party room with all of these products in two of the birthday child’s favorite colors. Along with your paper products, the JCC also provides your party with 1 sheet, cheese pizza which has 32 slices and Hawaiian Punch for the drink.

How many guests are included with my package ?

Each party package is for the Birthday Child and up to 12 guests, for a total of 13 kids. Siblings and any children over the age of 1 year, will be counted as a participant. For extra guests over the included count of 13, youwill be charged $10.00 per each additional child. If you are doing a pool party and have more than 13 guests, an extra $25.00 will be added to your total to cover the cost of adding an additional life guard to supervise your party and ensure the safety of your children.

What food can I bring into the JCC for my party ?

You are allowed to bring in any snack/food/drink items that you would like. Fruit, chips, cookies, ice cream, juice and sodaare just some examples of what is allowed. Do not forget to bring candles, birthday cake / cupcakes! A spatula and knife are available for your use. However, in keeping with the “Kosher -Style” requirements, the JCC does not allow any Pork, Shell Fish or Alcohol products of any kind to be brought into the building. This would include things such as pepperoni, ham, sausage, etc. If you are unsure whether a food or drink item is or is not allowed, please ask prior to your party date.

My guest will be using the PlayGym...Is there anything special I need to let my guests know ?

The Play Gym can only be utilized after it closes to members at 4:00pm. All children MUST wear socks to be allowed to climb and play on the structure. We suggest that you include the need for socks on your invitations. You might also want to bring a few extra pair, just in case. This way, everyone will be able to participate! If socks are forgotten, the front desk does have some available for $1.50 per pair.

My party is going to be in the pool..Is there anything special I need to know ?

When changing, you are welcome to utilize a locker to store your clothing/items in while you are in the pool. Please note that a lock will not be provided. If you have more than 13 children, an extra lifeguard will be required to ensure adequate supervision is provided. A $25.00 charge will be added to your total for this addition. All parties are held on Saturday’s and Sunday’s during the time in which the JCC is open to members. Your party guests will be sharing the pool with any members, adults and children that wish to swim during the JCC’s open business hours.

If your party is in the Lap Pool: 2 lanes will be closed exclusively for your birthday party. The remaining lanes will stay open for members who want to swim laps. Kids who wish to swim in the deep end will be required to take a “deep-end test”. This consists of swimming ½ the length of the pool on their stomach and the other ½ on their back. Guests will not be forced to take the test if they are not comfortable doing so. Pool toys will be available for kids both in the shallow and deep end of the pool. Parents who do not feel comfortable with their party using the deep end can let their party hosts know in advance and this option will not be offered to the party. Parents are welcome to swim with the children.

If you or your guests would like to continue to swim after the party has ended, non membersMUST return to the front desk to obtain guest passes. Prices are as follows: $7.00 for adults, $3.00 for children under 12 and $4.00 for kids 12 and older.
