Overview of the Microsoft Students Partner (MSP) program

If your application is successful, you will be awarded Student Partner (MSP) status for one academic year from July to June end. During this time you can refer to yourself as a Microsoft Student Partner and act as an official representative of Microsoft at your college/university. Being an MSP demands dedication. We encourage every MSP to undertake many activities and numerous voluntary activities throughout the year which are designed to suit everyone's level of ability and creativity. Activities range from giving technical lectures on campus, writing articles for the student newsletter to entering the Imagine Cup or running your own computer club or society.

You'll be part of the amazing Nepalese MSPs team,with lots of opportunities to learn, plan, interact with students from different universities and countries and help otherstudents in Nepal realizing their full potential and having fun. Microsoft Innovation Centre Nepal(MIC Nepal) will recognizeyour efforts and each activity you undertake.

Who can apply?

In order to be eligible for the award, you must be:

·  Over 18

·  An undergraduate or post-graduate student at an eligible university

·  Technical reps: Studying a full-time computer science-related degree or course and able to name a reference from your department or Microsoft.

·  Passionate about technology and willing to share your expertise with others at your school

Applications deadline for academic year 2014/15 is June 30, 2014

Application Process:

·  You need to fill up this application form online.

·  Printed application form with your photo also needs to be submitted to our office along with the application costs of NPR 1,000.

·  An acknowledgement email will be sent to you within a week of your application to the Orientation Program at MIC Nepal if you are in an academic institution around Kathmandu and within a month if you are in an academic institution outside of Kathmandu. All additional details of the process and the procedures to be an MSP would be detailed during the presentations at the orientation. At this time the following kit will be handed over to each and every applicant who are invited to the orientation. Not all the applicants will be invited to the orientation.

·  The orientation will be a full day event. Within 7 days of the orientation, you will be asked to upload a video to Facebook as per the instructions provided at the Orientation.

·  Please do not wait for the last day to submit your application since we will be screening the applicants as the applications come in and we will be doing Orientation Programs on a weekly basis. We will only be accepting fifty (50) applications on the last week so there might be a cut-off for your last day submission. The last date of submission of your application is June 30, 2014.

·  Orientation Programs: Weekly depending upon the number of applicants

·  Interviews: Various dates for only serious candidates only. Interviews may be over the phone or in face to face at the MIC Nepal Office. Not everyone will be called for a face to face interview.

·  Final list of MSPs published: July 11, 2014 (Friday) an SMS will be sent to your mobile phone.
