The position offered is an unclassified position, not subject to the provisions of section 124.34 of the Ohio Revised Code. Accordingly your employment is at-will, and may be ended at any time by either you or the university. The Ohio State University Office of Human Resources website http://hr.osu.edu contains valuable information regarding benefit programs, employment policies, and state and federal laws governing your employment. The rules, regulations, and policies of The Ohio State University, as well as applicable state and federal law govern your employment. Please familiarize yourself with these. Upon receipt of your signed offer letter a representative of the College of Arts and Sciences Business Services Center (BSC) will contact you. The BSC representative will provide you with all required new hire forms. This offer is contingent upon completion of all required new hire forms, which include:

1. I-9 Form: The Ohio State University is required by federal law to verify the identity and work authorization of all new employees. Accordingly, this offer is contingent upon verification of identity and eligibility to be employed in the United States.

2. DMA Form: In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), sections 2909.32, 2909.33 and 2909.34, new employees must receive a copy of the Terrorist Exclusion List (TEL) and complete a Declaration Regarding Material Assistance/Non-assistance to Terrorist Organizations (DMA) form.

3. Ethics Law Acknowledgement Form: Ohio State faculty and staff are covered by the Ohio Ethics Law for public officials and state employees, and accordingly must receive and acknowledge a copy of this legislation.

4. State Fraud Reporting Form: Ohio Revised Code 117.103(B) (2) requires the university to make all faculty and staff aware of the Auditor of State’s new fraud reporting system established by this statute, and accordingly you must receive and acknowledge a copy of this legislation.

In addition, this offer is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law, university policies, and/or unit policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check. After returning your signed offer letter, you will receive an email message requesting information required to initiate the background check process. If you do not receive this email within 3 business days, please contact your department’s human resource professional.
