Introduction
The Korean Nutrition Society, which is founded in 1967 to meet its end of developing nutrition and improves public's health and nutrition, has now expanded its scale with current members of 1,000 and representatives of 100.
The society publishes 1,000 volumes of ‘Journal of Nutrition and Health (Scopus listed/ 6 times a year/ a Korean·English journal)’ and ‘Nutrition Research and Practice (SCIE listed/ 6 times a year/ an English journal)’.
Professors and scholars in nutrition, natural sciences, medicine, pharmacology, agriculture, biology, biochemistry etc., and undergraduate, graduate students of the field, libraries of domestic universities and industries are registered as the members.
The Society is the only Korean pan-nutrition society to be a member of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences, IUNS and Federation Asian Nutrition Societies, FANS. The members are highly active in interdisciplinary fields and are making a great contribution to the growth of Korean Nutrition.
The Korean Nutrition Society holds its annual spring and fall conventions regularly, and also assembles symposiums to examine the current issues with authoritative figures of its fields. In addition, the society put together seminars, lectures and workshops to serve its members with the latest data, new research and their results.
The Korean Nutrition Society has established the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) for Koreans since 1962 to provide reference values for dietary nutrient intakes for healthy population and guidance for planning and assessing the diets of the Korean population, and has been revising every 5 years. In 2005 the KNS has established the Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs) consisted of EAR, RI, AI, and UL, which is a new system of Dietary Recommendations. In 2015 the KNS has revised the Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (Ministry of Health & Welfare’s research project, 2015 KDRIs).
The Korean Nutrition Society has contributed a great amount of deal in the fields of Food and Nutrition by establishing the KNIC (Korean Nutrition Information Committee). KNIC make it possible to provide Information related to the fields of food and nutrition not only for members but also the public in a more faster and convenient way preparing them for the upcoming information era of the 21st century.

2015Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (2015 KDRIs)
KDRIs is Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans. It is new system of Dietary recommendations consisting of EAR (Estimated Average Requirements), RI (Recommended Intake), AI (Average Intake), and UL (Tolerable Upper Intake Level). In 2015 the KNS has revised the Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (Ministry of Health & Welfare’s research project, 2015 KDRIs).
