County Executive Report

John Drew reported on the County Executive Meeting, including the following:

·  Street Watch - The County Chair and other Officers had visited Birmingham to look at their Scheme, which is more of a Community base than that which has been put into place in Northampton. It is run by the Community with help from the Police when needed. They look at Street Cleaning, Graffiti and such like.

The Meeting was told that Oundle Police had tried to start a Street Watch and Neighbourhood Watch but had circulated their own forms. These do not match our own in that they did not have all the details or the Data Protection in them. It was in the hands of the County Chairman.

·  Victim Support – This has now been renamed ‘Victims Voice’. It is also a National Scheme and not a County one.

·  Street Signs – We were told that some schemes had not sent in the Lamppost numbers. The County Chair is in correspondence to try and obtain one licence. This is ongoing.

Speakers

It was suggested that we might try to arrange for one for our AGM but that they would have 15 minutes to talk and 5 minutes for Question Time.

Training

This took most of the meeting.

The Majority of those present said that it was a good starting point.

Various comments were put forward:

·  Four meeting on top of our normal ones might put people off

·  One meeting of two hours would be better with an input from the County Chair of about 20 minutes plus possible John Gardner.

·  A brainstorming session might help but this was thought not to be of use by some present

Diana read out a letter that she had sent out some time ago to John Gardner. John Drew asked for a copy.

Any Other Business

Pat Endicott said that plastic doors locks are now being ‘popped’. She has arranged a meeting at Emmanuel Church on 22nd April at 7.30pm. There will be a talk by the Locksmiths Association. If anyone is interested please let her know that you would like a place by telling Cathy or John.

Closure of Meeting

The Meeting Closed at 20.25 hours.
