Dear Parents and Carers

Re: Arrangements for Young Voices at The O2 – please read carefully.

On Thursday 28th January the school choir will be performing at the O2 as part of a The Young Voices Concert.

Transport

We will leave school at 12:00 and travel to the venue by coach, returning to school after the concert at approximately 10:30, depending on traffic. Please note that all children must return to school on the coach and cannot be collected from the venue, even if you are attending the concert. No exceptions can be made to this arrangement. Children must be collected from Everington Road.

Refreshments

This will be a very exciting and long day and therefore children will need to bring enough food and drink for lunch and dinner. They will be given food breaks but will not be able to buy food at the venue. Due to the size of the venue it will not be possible for you to see your children before the concert so please ensure they bring all refreshments with them in the morning. Please remember that no glass bottles, sweets or nuts are allowed.

Performance

Children will learn the songs they are performing during choir rehearsals but will need to take responsibility for memorising the lyrics at home. Recordings of the songs can be found on the music page of the school website under the “Learn @ Home” tab. Please encourage your children to listen to and practice the songs. Children will need to wear a plain white T-shirt with dark bottoms for the performance. They should attend school in their uniform and bring the performance clothes with them to change into.

Audience

For those parents who have already purchased tickets, these will be distributed in the next couple of weeks. Please be aware that we are unable to replace any lost tickets as they are purchased through an external agent. The concert commences at 7:00 and will finish at approximately 21:15. I strongly advise you to visit the O2 website for further information on transport/ parking and refreshments.

Cost

£8.00. Please make payment online, via the school’s website and follow the ‘pay online’ link. If you have any difficulty with online payment, please contact the school office.

Permission

Please return the reply slip below to confirm your child’s attendance at the event and give photo permission.
