Dear Mr. President:
Thank you, Mr. President for choosing me to show you the world of earthquakes. I hope in the next few paragraphs your questions will be answered for you concern about earthquakes.
Earthquakes happen upon many places; it just depends on the boundaries and faults in the area. The most current spots that earthquakes are occurring are around the coast of the Pacific Ocean, mostly on the Asian and Pacific Islands and on the rim of the west coast of South America. In my experience of earthquakes that most common places of earthquake occurrence are near the coasts of plates and near islands. Earthquakes are most likely to happen on the end of plate boundaries and near volcanoes, which are the same destinations of the places I have listed off as where earthquakes have been occurring. Basically, where earthquakes are happening now is more likely to occur in certain locations.
During this time earthquakes have been occurring near plate boundaries, islands, and recent fault lines. Through all my years of research, patterns of earthquakes usually can show if a certain locations is prone or not. A place where there is much seismic activity and many fault lines can explain if there will be more activity there. We are not able to tell exactly where the next earthquake will happen, but we will know the general area where we think the next earthquake will occur. As a result, there is a way to determine what parts of the world are most prone to them.
Earthquakes and volcanoes do have a very simple yet complicate relationship between the two of them. First, there is that, they both start to form or occur when tectonic plates are moving around either bumping against each other, and/or moving apart from one another. Next, they both have to do something with seismic activity and they are both natural forces. Finally, volcanoes can cause earthquake activity.
I firmly stick to the reason of earthquake’s occurrence. This is of course, is when tectonic plates bump, slide, or grind against each other. This is caused from sea floor spreading. Some scientists believe earthquakes are caused form something else, but I believe in this.
Thank you again, for letting me fill you in on earthquakes and there history. I hope my answers to your questions will be successful in the future for you. If you have any further questions feel free to call me.
Sincerely,
Anna D
