Introductions of executive and key volunteers
Season review
-report on number of teams for each night
-quick review of last year’s banquet
Communications-Anthony
-new website to be introduced soon providing easier access to smart phones, twitter, facebook and text messaging
- changes will improve site functionality
-due to privacy issues there will also be changes when adding players to the roster-only the player’s email will be used
-all rosters must be complete by November 15 in order to facilitate the updates and data transfer to the website
-Anthony will continue to keep the members updated
Facilities-Indru
-new courts are now available at Gore Meadows Recreation Centre and Castlebrooke S.S.
-start times at Gore Meadows are later than other gyms
-all players were reminded to show respect to all custodial staff in the facilities and to avoid using equipment such as the basketball hoops
-no wet boots or hard shoes in the gym areas
Standings
-updated weekly
-teams must report discrepancies immediately to allow time for resolution before the next games
-a suggestion was made to have head ref’s equipped with cell phones to report scores immediately following games
-at least two clinics will be held before Christmas, the first being Defensive Tactics, the second Offensive Tactics
Open Gyms
-Monday Terry Miller 9:00-11:00pm, Friday Notre Dame 7:00-10:00pm
-pick up starts Oct.7th but will be cancelled the following week for Thanksgiving
-all information is posted on the website
Social Events
-2 places for players to go after games for team specials
-Ellen’s Bar and Grill in the north and Joey’s in the south end of Brampton
-a few suggestions for other social events such as ski trips, bowling and a Brampton Beast hockey night were well received
Referees and Games
-all players should show respect to the referees during games
-all scores are reported within 24 hours of games
-there is a 5 minute grace period before the start time of set of games
-rosters for all teams are due by November 15
-protests concerning illegal players must be discussed with the referee before the games begin
-players can be borrowed from other teams 1 tier above or any below
-unconfirmed players result in a performance bond fee-no game forfeit
-no youth allowed in the gym if they are under 18 years old
-teams may play short a female player if they start their match with an 11 point deficit
