AHOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE AND HONOR LEE ANN LAWRENCE, HELP DESK SERVICES MANAGER FOR LEGISLATIVE SERVICES AGENCY, ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, TO EXTEND DEEP APPRECIATION FOR HERTWENTYFIVE YEARS OF EXEMPLARY AND DEVOTEDSERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AND TO OFFER BEST WISHES FOR A SATISFYING AND REWARDING RETIREMENT.

Whereas, for twentyfive years, the South Carolina General Assembly has enjoyed the benefit of the dedication and experienceof Lee Ann Lawrence, who on December 31, 2017, will retire after a career of outstanding public service, the last twentytwo years of which she has served as a member of Legislative Services Agency (formerlyLegislative Printing and Information Technology Resources), where she presently ismanager of Help Desk Services; and

Whereas, born to Lee and Polly Pearson,Lee Ann earned a degree in finance at the University of South Carolina in Columbia; and

Whereas, prior to her service with the General Assembly, Lee Ann Lawrence served as an assistant clerk in the Richland County Family Court and as an assistant clerk in the Richland County Clerk of Court’s Office. In January 1994, she began working parttime in the former Legislative Printing and Information Technology Resources, becominga fulltime employee in August 1995; and

Whereas, during her service with the General Assembly, she has answered service calls, conducted training, and managed personnel and computer systems, standing ever ready to assist members, their staff, and her colleagues; and

Whereas, sometimes known as the “computer lady,” Lee Annhas always greeted members and staff with a warm smile and willingness to assist them with all their computer problems. The high standards of integrity and proficiency she has set are hallmarks of her service to the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, after her retirement, Lee Ann plans to continue serving her church, Chapin United Methodist, through mission trips, participation in small groups, and ushering.She and her husband, Dave, will continue “going places and seeing things” as one of their favorite hobbies. In addition, visiting her stepsons, Dustin and Devin, gives Lee Ann great pleasure; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and excellenceLee Ann Lawrence has bestowed on the people of South Carolina. Her many friends in this body take great pleasure in wishing herall the best as she enters retirement, and the members trust she will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate and honor Lee Ann Lawrence, Help Desk Services manager for Legislative Services Agency, on the occasion of her retirement, extend deep appreciation for her twentyfive years of exemplary and devoted service to the South Carolina General Assembly, and offer best wishes for a satisfying and rewarding retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Lee Ann Lawrence.
