A JOINT RESOLUTION
TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION, RELATING TO LEGISLATIVE INCENTIVES FOR FUTURE EXCELLENCE (LIFE) SCHOLARSHIPS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2360, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION1.The regulations of the Commission on Higher Education, relating to Legislative Incentives for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarships, designated as Regulation Document Number 2360, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION2.This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
House Bill 4535, Legislative Incentives for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarships, was approved by the General Assembly during the 1998 legislative session and signed into law on Friday, June 19, 1998. This bill authorizes funding for scholarships in the amount of two thousand to eligible students attending fouryear public and independent colleges and universities, and scholarships in the amount of one thousand to eligible students attending twoyear public and independent colleges and universities in South Carolina. The goals of the LIFE Scholarship Program are to increase access to higher education, improve the employability of South Carolina’s students so as to attract business to the State, to provide incentives for students to be better prepared for college, to improve SAT scores, and to graduate from college on time. The bill authorizes the Commission on Higher Education to create regulations for administration of the LIFE Scholarship Program.
