LPF Development Officer
Competitive salary– Full Time
Level Playing Field (LPF) is seeking to appoint a full time Development Officer to join the Access and Development Team.
This dedicatedrolewill include thedelivery and development ofLPF’s accredited disability equality training, helping with day to day enquiries from sports clubs and disabled fans and supporting the LPF Access Auditors and Projects Officer. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and will work closely with the wider LPF team.
LPF is a registered charity in England and Wales, and acts as an advisory and support organisation to its membership and key stakeholders across all sports. We work with our partners toshare bestpractice, to raise awareness of access and inclusion issues and to promote ‘good access for all fans’ at sports venues.
Our membership is diverse and includes sport governing bodies, professional sports clubs, equality and disability NGOsand fans groups, alongsideour core membership of disabled supporter groups and individual disabled fans and their advocates.
Applicants should have an understanding of access and inclusion issues in sport. They should be computer literate, able to manage projects simultaneously and be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in written form.
The position will be based out of the charity’s London office in Wembley. The role will require some travel and may include occasional weekend and accommodation and meals, will be provided when travelling to and from meetings and events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering LPF Disability Inclusion and Etiquette Training sessions.
- Develop and create further LPF training sessions
- Handling day-to-day enquiries from clubs and disabled supporters.
- Working with and building positive relationships with the LPF membership, disabled supporters and clubs.
- Creating partnership and networking opportunities to further promote LPF’s services.
- Supporting the Projects Officer at meetings and Regional Forums to share best practice and supporter experiences.
Key knowledge, skills, experience, competencies and qualifications:
Essential:
- Computer literate (Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, CRM system and using a cloud based electronic filing system)
- Previous experience in designing and delivering training sessions.
- Excellent briefing, report writing capabilities and interpersonal / communication skills
- Previous experience of working in the equality/disability/access and inclusion and/or sports and NGO sectors
- Understanding of the social model of disability
- Experience of working within a small team and proven ability to form positive working relationships with all stakeholders
- Flexibility in working arrangements and willingness to travel away from home and work (occasional) evenings and weekends
- Self-motivated and passionate about the ethos behind LPF and its works
- A commitment to undergo further access and inclusion training as required.
Desirable
- An understanding of accessible sports stadia (accessible facilities and services) for disabled spectators
- An interest in sports, equalityand improving the disabled sports fan experience
