The oxygen problem is indeed crucial in cases of cancer but your brother does not seem willing to start a breathing retraining, and anyway I am afraid that at this stage he would also need other, more quick-acting remedies
I can imagine that you are spending your nights on the web, searching for the best approach, and there are also so many natural-alternative therapies offered that it is difficult to make a choice and to distinguish what has some scientific support and what does not.
You are already well informed on many of these therapies and I would just like to mention a therapy that apparently has some connection with Buteyko's O2-CO2 approach. I wonder if you heard about my Italian collegue doctor Simoncini and about his book (Cancer is a Fungus) and his therapy, based on IV sodium bicarbonate.

Although Simoncini does not mention it, I always wondered whether what is really working to kill the cancer is the CO2 that is formed in relatively big quantities when a lot of sodium bicarbonate is introduced and reacts with water and other substances in the body. Therefore I was very happy when some time ago I happened to read what Dr. M. Sircus (no connection with Buteyko) says regarding the subject: in the preface to his book "Sodium Bicarbonate - Rich Man's Poor Man's Cancer Treatment" ( he writes: " This book also gives the keys to understanding that vast fraud and the intended rip off of labeling Carbon Dioxide (CO2) a poisonous gas. In these pages you will find the truth about CO2 because it is a great part of the secret about sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), which turns to CO2 in the stomach when mixed with water. As we shall see sodium bicarbonate, CO2 and Oxygen (O2) are all tied together. All three are essential for biological existence on planet earth. CO2 is no more of a poison than water." According to Sircus oral sodium bicarbonate works just as well as IV.
Another interesting treatment to look at is DCA, ( ) based on research at the University of Alberta.
DCA decreases lactic acid, and although in this case I could not figure out the chemical reactions regarding the role of CO2 I think that a role is played by the antagonism between levels of lactic acid and CO2.
And then, although there is no connection to CO2, I was recently very impressed when at the University of Florence (Firenze) I heard prof. Ruggiero ( ) speak about a treatment with GcMAF, based on the discovery of Japanese professor Yamamoto. You can read about it at where this substance can also be bought.
And then of course there are other more well known natural treatments (based on high dose pancreatic enzymes, Budwig diet, pao-pereira, the Spanish biobac/renoven, carnivora, high dose vit.C, selenium and many, many others. I think that since no one has the magic bullet for cancer, one should try to combine as many natural approaches as possible, as long as they are at least harmless, without side-effects and not expensive. They should be tried as an adjunct and not as an alternative to conventional treatments and, needless to say, under the supervision of the treating doctor.
If your brother would like a more high-tech approach there are quite a few German clinics who combine hyperthermia, dendritic cells, peptides, and other non-toxic treatments. If I remember well you live in the UK (European Union) and therefore part of the treatment in Germany would be payed by the German public AOK (but one should ask and get the necessary E112 or 117 form before leaving).
