Technology Fellows Application

Thank you for your interest in the Technology Fellow Program at SDSM&T. To be part of the Tech Fellow Program it is required that applicants be an undergraduate student of SDSM&T, a South Dakota resident, enrolled in 32 credit hours or more in a12 month period and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75.

The Tech Fellow Program work commitment is 12-15 hours per week for 16 weeks per semester. There will also be a 1 hour mandatory meeting every other week requiring all Technology Fellows to attend. There will be no makeup hours, and you will only get paid what hours you work. You will be held accountable for missing any scheduled work or meeting times. The starting payrate is $12/hour with a $1/hour raise on the anniversary of your hire date each year up to the cap of $14.

As a Tech Fellow you will be tasked with many duties including: helping customers, answering phones, reconditioning student computers, installing software and scanning for malicious applications. The position is a customer service oriented position. This means that much of your time will be spent working different customers that come down to the ITS Help Desk as well as answering phone calls and email to assist those that may call looking for assistance with different matters.

Business casual attire will be required with apparel that is appropriate for a work environment. You will be issued 2 collared shirts that can be worn during work hours. Jeans are appropriate for some of the dirtier tasks that the position requires.
