The College
Abbey Gate College is the longest-running coeducational independent school in the Chester area, catering for circa 485 pupils aged 4-18 years. Set in the idyllic rural villages of Saighton and Aldford on the outskirts of Chester.

Role Reporting to: - Bursar
Purpose of role:-
· Responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy to increase awareness of the College’s brand in the local area
· Increase the number of prospective families making enquiries for their children to attend the College
· Effectively promote the aims and ethos of The College in a consistent manner.
· Ensure effective targeting of resources through data analysis and evaluation of all activities, maximising return on investment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:-
The post holder will:
· Be responsible for the development and management of effective, multi-channel marketing strategies
· Implement and evaluate campaigns, ensuring consistency with College brand guidelines and messaging.
· Be responsible for the development and regular updates to the College’s website to ensure SEO optimisation, maximum appeal to target audiences, and consistency with brand guidelines and ethos.
· Optimise the College’s presence on social media, actively managing the accounts.
· Be responsible for managing the marketing budget, ensuring maximum return on investment.
· Maintain an overview of all internally and externally-produced communications and ensure uniformity of branding and key messages.
· Manage external resources where required to ensure successful delivery of creative campaigns.
· Produce the termly “Broadsheet” magazine, showcasing the College’s activities and achievements.
· Analysis of marketing data such as parent / pupil questionnaires, prospective enquiries and feeder schools of current pupils.
· Provide the Leadership Team with accurate marketing intelligence and advice on how changes made in school may impact on the external environment.
· Co-ordinate collection of wider market intelligence across the sector and target customer base to establish changing preferences and perceptions.
· Keep abreast of developments across the independent education sector at national as well as local level, with a particular close monitoring and reporting of competitor activity.
General Support for the College
· To support the College’s commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare at a level appropriate to this role.
· Promote a customer-centric approach consistent with stated aims and objectives of the College.
· Be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures relating to health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person
· Contribute positively to the overall ethos/work/aims of Abbey Gate College;
· Participate in training, and undertake any performance development activities as required.
· Attend and participate in meetings and forums as required, both internally and externally.
· Be aware of and responsive to the changing needs of the College and maintain a flexible and pro-active approach to work.
Skills and Experience Requirements
· Management of marketing department / function and budget within a business or educational environment is essential.
· Hands-on experience of leading digital marketing initiatives and analysis thereof
· Knowledge of conducting customer needs / preferences analysis
· Excellent numerical skills, including ability to analyse and manipulate large amounts of data, and present back to Senior Management in meaningful way for decision-making purposes.
· Fully PC literate, high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Powerpoint, Excel, Word) is essential, with knowledge of other design-based software highly desirable (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop).
· Demonstrated success of building collaborative partnerships with external companies / customers.

Qualifications
· Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Terms and Conditions of Employment
Salary
£25,000 - £28,000 dependent on qualifications and relevant experience.
Working Hours
The position is offered as full time, Monday – Friday, 8:30am and 4:30pm. This is inclusive of up to one hour break for lunch. There is also the occasional requirement to work evenings or weekends to support Open Days and key College events.
A paid holiday allowance of 25 days per year plus 8 bank holidays will be given.
