Position Description
Job Title / Human Resources OfficerPosition Function / Be a positive active member of the Corporate Services team with human resources focus together with administration support and advice. Maintain and support the personnel filing and management systems.
Reports to / Chief Finance Officer

Hours Per Week /
- Part Time – 32 hours per week
Special Conditions /
- Six (6) Month fixed-term contract.
Award / Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services Award 2010 Grade 5, Level 3 – $28.57 gross per hour
Key Responsibilities /
- Assist with the delivery of operational support/guidance to service managers and individual employees in areas such as employee relations/coaching, job design, performance management, remuneration and benefits, job evaluation, compliance, employee development, succession planning, and ensure effective communication with all staff to maintain ethical and the transparent working relationships.
- Provide to staff an informal support and/or referral to EAPS as required.
- Develop, maintain and review Biripi ACMC Induction program. Ensuring that all new staff have received a completed induction program.
- Maintain a register of professional practicing licenses
- Coordinate and provide advice on disciplinary procedures
- Liaising with relevant people to draft position advertisements and position descriptions to ensure appropriate authorisations prior to the commencement of recruitment
- Preparing interview packs and distributing to panel members prior to interviews being conducted
- Ensuring that new employees have undergone the Screening and Suitability process and hold all relevant licencing and certification relating to the position.
- Review and ensure commencement, orientation and employee record documentation is completed correctly
- Review employee details in personnel files, ensure that all employee details are corrected and up to date.
- Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR processes
- Process National Criminal History Checks and Working with Children Checks for all employees and contractors and provide support to services when required
- Upload necessary employee documentation into new HR Advance software.
- Other tasks as directed by the CFO
- Attend meetings as and when required including all staff and team meetings.
- Provide administrative support at meetings as requested
- Map and monitor meetings (and other diarised needs) of HR
- Attend all training as directed
- Provide support in any training as requested by the HR Officer
- Attend relevant orientation workshops, etc. as required.
- Participate in appropriate education to maintain and develop professional expertise, skill and knowledge.
- Attend ongoing training as required.
- Be aware of Biripi ACMC complaints mechanism and administration procedures to undertake investigations as and when required.
- Work as a member of a team in order to achieve the objectives of Biripi ACMC.
- Confidentiality is a mandatory requirement. Any breach of this requirement may result in instant dismissal.
- Compliance with all policies and procedures of Biripi ACMC.
- Perform other duties as requested by your manager.
- Be familiar with the WHS policies and procedures and be responsible for own safety and that of fellow employees, clients and visitors.
- Apply WHS guidelines and procedures
- Identify and rectify safety hazards if within ability or authority. Alternatively report safety hazards in the workplace.
- Maintain a harassment, discrimination, violence and bullying free workplace.
- Consult with employees on WHS matters.
