ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS: FALL 2017

1. Applications are invited from interested candidates for admission in the following undergraduate programs for the Session Fall 2017:

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA):
Major in Marketing, Accounting, Finance, HRM and SCM / 100 / 4 Years
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English / 50 / 4 Years

2. Qualification for Admission: Candidates who have passed HSC or A Level examinations in 2015, 2016 and 2017 are eligible to apply, if he/she fulfills the following conditions:

a. CSE/EEE/CE:

(1) SSC/Dakhil and HSC/Alim Examinations: HSC/Alim or equivalent examination in Science Group with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with minimum GPA 3.0 for each. The sum total GPA of SSC/Dakhil and HSC/Alim should be minimum 7.0 (with additional subject).

(2) Candidates who have obtained GPA 5 both in HSC/Alim and SSC/Dakhil are eligible for direct Admission and waiver as per University rules.

(3) Candidates who have obtained a total of GPA 9 in SSC & HSC will be required to appear Viva Voce only.

(4) GCE Applicants

(a) O Level: GPA 3 in minimum five subjects including, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1).

(b) A Level: GPA 3 in minimum 2 subjects including Mathematics, Physics/ Chemistry

(d) The candidates with E grade in any subject will not be considered.

(5) 3% of the total seats are reserved for the children of Freedom Fighters; while another 3% is for meritorious but poor candidates of remotely underdeveloped areas.

b. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

(1) SSC/Dakhil and HSC/Alim Examination: Minimum GPA of 3.00 in HSC or equivalent examination. The sum total of GPA of HSC/Alim and SSC/Dakhil should be minimum 6.0.

(3) Candidates who have obtained a total of GPA 9 in SSC & HSC will be required to appear Viva Voce only.

4) GCE Applicants

c. Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English

3. Selection Procedure for Admission

a. Engineering Program (CSE/EEE/CE). A written test will be conducted on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English (Comprehension and Functional) as per the syllabus of HSC. The test will be of 100 marks and one hour duration. The distribution of marks is given below

b. Non-Engineering Program

(1) Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). A written test will be conducted on Mathematics, English (as per the syllabus of HSC), General Knowledge and Analytical Ability. The test will be of 100 marks and one hour duration. The distribution of marks is given below:

(2) Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English. A written test will be conducted on Bangla, English (as per the syllabus of HSC), General Knowledge and Creative Writing Ability. The test will be of 100 marks and one hour duration. The distribution of marks is given below:

c. Viva Voce Guidelines (For all Programs): The candidates will also be required to appear the Viva Voce Exams. The Viva will be of 25 marks. The Viva will be to test the conceptual knowledge of the candidates on the subjects and other issues.

d. Final Selection: Merit list of candidates will be prepared on the basis of the following weightage:

Written Admission test / 50%
VivaVoce / 25%
GPA of HSC/ Alim/ “A” level/ equivalent examination / 15%
GPA of SSC/ Dakhil (without 4th subject) / “O”level/ equivalent Examination / 10%

e. List of the selected candidates will be published in the BAIUST website (www.baiust.edu.bd).

4. Fees and Payment Procedure

a. CSE/EEE/CE

5. Application Guidelines Students can apply directly through online Admission System or can use prescribed Application Form (available on BAIUST website) and submit (by post, courier, or in person) along with a Bank draft of Tk 500/- addressed to the VC, BAIUST, Comilla Cantonment. For online submission of application, please follow the instructions given in the Website (www.baiust.edu.bd).

6. Candidates are required to bring the Mark Sheets of SSC and HSC Exams during the Written Test/Viva Voce.

7. Hostel/Accommodation Facilities: Hostel and transportation facilities are available in the close proximity of the University Campus. BAIUST bus service from Comilla city to campus is available also.
