CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF ST. LOUIS, a federation of eight agencies, has been helping people in need since 1912. In response to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our mission is to serve people in need, especially those who are poor and vulnerable; work to improve social conditions for all people in the community; and call members of the Church and community to do the same. On an annual basis, the Catholic Charities Federation assists over 124,000 people, through 100 programs at 50 sites, in 11 counties of the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The Chief Development Officer directs the efforts of Catholic Charities Central Office and coaches/guides Catholic Charities Federation member agencies in all matters of fundraising, development, and marketing. The position has primary responsibility for “branding” Catholic Charities, increasing the awareness about the works, services and activities of Catholic Charities to the St. Louis Archdiocesan Catholic population, and to the greater St. Louis community. Responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive marketing/development plan including the following areas of activity: annual fund drive; direct-mail appeals; foundation and corporation proposals; planned giving; major donor identification, cultivation and solicitation; and meaningful special events. Responsible for the reporting and planning of these areas.

Qualifications:

-  A practicing Catholic with a demonstrable passion for the mission of Catholic Charities of St. Louis.

-  Has a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Development.

-  A seasoned and experienced professional who has worked as a true business partner with the president of an organization.

-  Prior supervisory experience, plus at least five years of executive/senior level management experience.

-  A team player with integrity and initiative.

-  Able to handle and prioritize multiple, varied responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
