The EQIT 48-hour course of training is dependent upon participants fully engaging in course activities and discussions. Because of this, it is important that students attend EACH of the scheduled EQIT classes in their entirety in order to receive a certificate of completion.
Coaching:
EQ Related Coaching is a part of the Expanding Quality in Infant/Toddler Care Initiative’s 48-hour core course of training. The coaching experience is designed to support caregivers as they implement their learning about relationship-based care in the child care settings from the EQ training. Infant & toddler teachers will be expected to participate in a minimum of 4 hours of coaching. Please discuss with your director and indicate below the best days and time for coaching visits:

Attendance:
The EQIT 48-hour course of training is dependent upon participants fully engaging in course activities and discussions. Because of this, it is important that students attend all scheduled EQIT classes. However, there may be times when a student is unable to attend class due to an emergency or illness. In this event, students are expected to contact their EQIT instructor to inform them of an absence and to arrange to complete homework. Tardiness or early departure of more than 15 minutes will count toward total time absent. Students may miss no more than 6 hours of class and still receive an EQIT certificate.
Registration Fees:
Participant fees are utilized to support the EQIT training and activities. If your center is receiving funding through the Colorado Shines Quality Improvement Grant, these funds may be used for professional development, such as EQIT. No participant will be denied registration due to inability to pay the registration fee. Please contact the ECC of La Plata County for information about scholarships.
