Dear Parent/Guardians:
One of the traditions of Wilson is our Junior/Senior Prom. We are pleased to announce that the following requirements for attending the prom have been approved by our School Based Planning Team. The policy is as follows:
Requirements for Prom Participation
Attendance
· 90% attendance in all classes from the beginning of the 3rd marking period, which begins on February 2, 2015 with an end date of May 21, 2015 (the day of the prom). Only excused absences will be acceptable.
Citizenship & Behavior
· No suspensions (ISS or OSS) from the beginning of the 3rd marking period through the day of the prom. This also includes Long Term Suspensions.
Academic Effort
· No more than a total of 2 F’s on the 3rd marking period report card or the 4th marking period progress reports.
These criteria apply to any and all Wilson students that wish to attend the prom.
Although the prom is a Junior/Senior event, please note that participation requirements apply to underclassmen who wish to attend as the guest of a Junior or Senior. A guest permission slip must be completed and on file for any guest from a different school.
The prom will be held on Thursday, May 21st at the Radisson at RIT from 6 pm – 11pm with dinner being served at 7 p.m.
The attached Prom contract must be signed by both the parent and the student acknowledging that they understand the requirements. This contract is due to Melissa Neill-Adams (room 143) or Michelle Whelen (room 106) by February 27th. If this contract is not on file, students will not be able to purchase a ticket. It is recommended that all Juniors and Seniors have this signed and on file, even if they are unsure that they will be attending the Prom.
It is expected that all students attending the prom will adhere to the approved dress code as this is a school sponsored event.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at extension 1430 or 1060. You can also email us at or .
Thank you,
Melissa Neill-Adams Michelle Whelen
