REFER-A-FRIEND PROGRAM:

Thank you for your continued support of our programs. To show our appreciation we offer a $10 credit to enrolled students who recommend our studio to a new student. To receive credit, the new student must indicate the referral on their registration form.

ATTENDANCE:

A student who misses a class for any reason may schedule a make-up for the missed class in another, similar class. All make-up classes must be scheduled within the current session. There are no refunds for missed classes.

Inclement Weather Policy:

For closures due to inclement weather, a message will be posted on the website and studio answering machine 1-hour prior to class times.

NEWS / ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There is a bulletin board located in each lobby. Monthly newsletters, information about special events, schedule changes, etc. will be posted there for your reference. All Information will also be available on the website.

STUDIO ETTIQUITTE:

The waiting area is for the convenience of our students and their families. Please respect others and the classes in session.

Only students, teachers and assistants are allowed in the studio rooms during class time.

No gum, food, or drinks are permitted in the studio rooms. Water bottles are allowed.

Absolutely no smoking or consumption of alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the studio building.

CLASS OBSERVATION:

Parents are invited to observe classes ONLY during the first week of November and first week of May. Thank you for your cooperation.

DRESS CODE:

All students are required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear to class. No street clothes or footwear will be permitted.

Absolutely no street shoes will be permitted on the dance floors at any time.

Hair must be pulled off of the face and neck at all times.

Please note the Dress Code handout, located online and posted in the studio for more detailed information.

ANNUAL RECITAL:

Participation in the Annual Recital is optional. Dancers must attend a minimum of two consecutive sessions in order to perform.

Recital costume fees generally run between $65 and $90 per costume. Costume payments are due by November 15th. Costumes must be ordered early in the Dance Year to ensure delivery dates before the Recital. All costume payments are nonrefundable.

A $60 recital fee is due March 17th. Other optional expenses include recital pictures, recital DVD, etc.

A full Dress Rehearsal will be held during the week prior to the recital and is mandatory for all participants.

StudioBleuDanceCenter is the largest Performing Arts Studio in the Metro Area… but that’s not what truly sets us apart. Our talented and caring staff is committed to enriching the lives of our students.

Whether your are two or eighty-two, Studio Bleu offers a curriculum that not only builds a strong repertoire of dance technique, but also gives our students the opportunity to gain valuable performance experience.

Our award-winning competition team travels throughout the world performing at both competitions and charity events, and has received a host of awards and accolades. Our students also perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and at Lincoln Center Stage in New York!

PROGRAMS OFFERED

StudioBleuDanceCenter offers a variety of dance and fitness classes for ages 18 months through adult. We offer classes for dancers of all levels.

Class placement is at the discretion of the teacher or Company Director and is determined by a dancer’s age, ability level and previous dance experience. New students may be asked to take a placement class to determine the appropriate level for them. All class sizes are limited to give your dancer the special attention they deserve.

COMBOCLASS:A full hour class specially designed to introduce our younger students to the different styles of dance that we offer in our regular dance program. All Combination Classes include Ballet, Tap, and Creative Movement.

BALLET: Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. Body placement, flexibility, alignment, strength and technique are achieved through barre and center floor work based on a variety of techniques. At the intermediate and advanced levels it is recommended that students take several classes per week. Advanced classes will include optional work en Pointe.

TAP: All studentscan enjoy the basic fundamentals of tap! Students learnbasic sounds and steps which lead to advanced rhythms and syncopation. Dancers progress to complex combinations androutines that incorporate many tap styles.

JAZZ: Jazz includes stretches, isolations, and footwork. Classes include a warm-up, across-the-floor work, and technique ending with choreography set to contemporary music.

LYRICAL:Lyrical combines Ballet and Jazz techniques in order to interpret music through dance. Please note: Students must be currently enrolled in ballet for this discipline.

ACROBATICS:Acrobatics includes Instruction in tumbling as well as stretching, strength, and basic dance is included. Students are taught many skills such as forward rolls, handstands, backbends, walkovers, and back handsprings.

HIP HOP: A high-energy class that offers the latest in funk, hip-hop, and street movements.

PRIVATE LESSONS: Private lessons are available in any discipline for children and adults aged 6 and up and are enrolled in at least one group class.

STRETCH AND FLEX: Stretch and Flex combines elements of both floor and standing stretches. It enhances stamina, tones muscles, expands your movement range while gaining balance and improving alignment.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING: Strength and Conditioning is designed to improve students’ core strength and endurance through resistance training and the use of free weights.

TURNS AND LEAPS: This class will consist of a warm-up that incorporates skills needed for great turns. The class will also focus on the missing elements of technique to take your leaps to a higher level.

YOGAFIT®:Come see how YogaFit® can be for EveryBody! Discover classes designed for all body types and fitness levels. Work out and feel great in body, mind, and spirit.

MODERN: Modern emphasizes the use of the floor for centering and grounding oneself in movement. Like other dance forms it utilizes breath (inhale/exhale) to bring quality to movement.

FITNESS CLASSES: Other Fitness classes offered throughout the year include Abs/Core, Pilates, Boot Camp, Kickboxing, Circuit Training, Body Sculpting, and Moms ‘N Motion.

COMPETITIVE CLASSES:Competitive level classes are offered for members of our Performing Company. Students enter this program through audition or upon teacher recommendation.

DANCE TEAM/POM: Dance Team/Pom classes offer dance technique combined with precision pom movements.

STUDio policies

The following policies regarding registration, tuition, dress code, and general studio rules ensure a comfortable and structured experience for students and parents. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and allows the staff to give their undivided attention to the needs of all our students.

REGISTRATION:

All continuing and new students must register to guarantee a place in the class of choice.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The first session’s tuition, along with the registration fee (see below) is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable.

$25.00 New Students / $20.00 Returning Students

TUITION:

Tuition is due on the first day of each session. A $25.00 late fee will be charged for payments made 15 days or more past the due date.

Each session is 8 weeks long and there are 5 sessions per Dance Year (September – June).

Any student wishing to withdraw from a class must fill out a class drop/change form. Students will be considered enrolled until such notice is received, and tuition will continue to be charged.

Forms of payment accepted include cash, check, MasterCard, and Visa. All checks should be made payable to StudioBleuDanceCenter. There will be a $25.00 fee charged for returned checks.
