(Visual Arts Fellowship Recipients Only)

The following outlines the responsibilities of both the Visual Arts Fellowship recipient (Recipient) and the Wyoming Arts Council (WAC) in regards to the Biennial Fellowship Exhibition that will be created from the work of the Visual Arts Fellowship recipients:

PLEASE NOTE:

If a Recipient moves out of the state prior to June 30th of the applicable fiscal year, the WAC shall retain the remaining 30% fellowship payment and reserves the right to withhold Recipient participation in the exhibition, catalogue and exhibition stipends described below.

Responsibilities of WAC:

1.The WAC shall provide a curator to select works for theBiennialFellowship exhibition (location and date to be announced).

2.The WAC shall arrange for a loan agreement to be executed between the Recipient and the exhibiting institution.

3.The Institution shall provide the Recipient a statement of the insurance coverage for the Recipient’s work that will be covered by the exhibiting institution.

4.The WAC shall publish a brochure to accompany the Biennial Fellowship exhibit. A minimum of 1,000 copies shall be published. Twenty-five copies shall be given to each Fellowship Recipient. These are published as a promotional tool for the artists, and will be distributed regionally and nationally.

5.The WAC shall arrange for an introductory title/text panel identifying the exhibition and its sponsors and labels to be provided as part of the exhibition by the exhibiting institution.

Responsibilities of Recipient:

1.The Recipient shall notify the WAC of any changes in state residency status and may be excluded from the Biennial Fellowship Exhibit should they reside out of state for more than 10 months out of the year prior to the scheduled exhibit.

2.The Recipient shall provide works to be selected for the Biennial Fellowship exhibition. Selection will be made by a designated juror/curator through review ofimages and studio visits at a time to be announced. Works selected by the curator that pose a problem in installation or transportation will be reviewed for possible substitutions.

3.The Recipient agrees that works of art sold from the exhibition shall not be released to the purchasers until the conclusion of the exhibition.

4.The Recipient agrees to allow the exhibiting institution to take a commission on all sales (amount of commission to be determined prior to exhibit.).

5.The Recipient shall complete a loan form, provided by the exhibiting institution, on each work selected for the exhibit.

6.The Recipient shall deliver selected works to the exhibit institution at least two weeks prior to exhibition. The Recipient shall notify the venue of anticipated delivery date and time.

7.The Recipient shall have all works labeled and ready to exhibit with written installation directions if necessary.

8.The Recipient shall make every effort to attend the opening reception of the Fellowship exhibition at a time and date to be announced.

9.The Recipient shall pick up works at the exhibition venue upon completion of the exhibition.
